"Hello?" his taunting, satisfied voice could be heard from the other end. Supressing my emotions that were about to burst, I calmly asked where he was currently. "Oh I've been in Japan for the past couple of days, I picked up a bunch of stuff at-" And it was at that moment my head went completely blank, and I understood. He was as cunning as he was malicious. He didn't intend to end me here and now, what a fool I would have been to think otherwise. He was going to play the long game, one that slowly would tear away at my crumbling psyche. One that would give me nothing but torment for all the years to come. Until one day, where I, now a broken shell of a men, would be begging for the release of death. And he would come, look me in the eyes, and say "No." Be aware of this man, for I would not wish such a fate befallen on anyone else.

+ rep overall a pretty cool guy

I began to have difficulty sleeping, I could see silhouettes moving outside of my window, creeping ever so closer towards my humble abode. A scratching noise began to appear not long after, first one that was distant and barely audible, but quickly turned into one that sounded as if it was right underneath my very bed. That morning I had enough, I picked up my phone and dialed his number without delay. While I was waiting for him to pick up, I could feel a large lump in my throat. Sweat poured from about every place sweat can come from, and I pondered whether or not he would come after me once and for all now that I had taken action. When he picked up, I could hear that familiar phrase I had dreaded so long.

When I first laid my eyes upon this man, I was unaware of the sinister nature hiding beneath that unassuming personality of his. For weeks, months, years, I was misled. Every day where I would look at him, he would simply look back and say "Hello." If only I understood the true meaning of those words when I had first heard them. As time went by, his usual demeanor began to change, morph into something else. Something alien to what I assumed the real him was. He began to look and talk to me with the eyes of a beast, of a predator, whose only goal was to consume the life and emotions of those around him. No, around IT. Gone where the days where I could simply have a conversation without being gripped by a very primal fear, as if my entire being was in danger. He even started to swear sometimes.
