Early Access Review
I cannot fully recommend it, its very bare bones, and still full of bugs (but its early access, I just hope not the tarkov kind in the long run). I bought into Tarkov with EoD when it was early in development, right after it became paid in beta. Its has many ideas that also are in tarkov, but gives it a new twist.

Im okay spending the money if they continously develop it and currently it needs a lot of polish. If you want to buy it, be warned, its basically an alpha. Its no where near other titles that are in early access.
Currently my charachter has no head which is a bug some experience, and I cant do anything to get it back.
A lot of settings and control binds are not there even though they should be.
The Servers are maxed out, the EU West server is lagging a lot compared to other servers.
Enemies drop like a second after you downed them, I guess thats due to the server overload.

The Graphics are nice, but the performance is not that good (RTX 2070 super at 1440p). Without AMDs upscaling thingy, I only get around 30 fps.

The Team Mechanic is a cool concept, but there are still a lot of people who dont look at the map and kill you on sight, even though you are on the same team.
One Issue I have thats similar to Tarkov is, that you get no zome with basic optics, even though IRL the eye/brain can focus which can be portraid like a zoom.

Currently the best game to play with friends. And its fun even if you unlocked everything.

Remember the good old Battlefield Moments, where funny stuff happens. This game is those Battlefield moments just constantly!

Can be very annoying and a meat grinder, but its awesome with a squad that is communicating!
You dont need a mic, but team play is the most important thing in this game.

Also, (besides the new "El Alamain", I hate it), the maps are just the best I have seen in gaming for a long time, if not ever seen.

With a conservative estimation, I put 1.5k hours into this game. I played it since 2013 before it was available on steam.

Can I recommend this game to new players?
In its current state, NO!

The Gameplay and Vehicle varriety makes War Thunder a unique game in the current gaming market. And I love the Game for that.

The Issue that I and many others have is, that the developer Gaijin nerfed the economy regularly over the years, while releasing more and more Paid features like a Battlepass and Premium packs that increase dramatically in price.

If you want to play this game as a F2P player, and you want to get the often advertised Cold War Vehicles or Jets, you have to grind for years, just to get to the end of one Tech Tree.
Even with a Premium Account that is supposed to make the grind easier, you often lose Progress in form of the Ingame currency SL.

I personally played the Simulator EC mode, and the economy is so bad there, that even with Premium Account and Premium planes, you regularly lose ingame money.

The "review Bombing" happened due to another economics nerf. The respons from the Devs regarding all of this has been really tone deaf.

To end this review, I didnt write this to pile on the review Bombing, I wrote this as a Singular Cusomer who invested a lot of money into this game who is fed up with the developer.
I love this game, and if things change for the better, I will change this review to reflect that.

But currently, I just cant recommend this Game!

This game is best described as a Space Sim.
The learning curve is quite steep in the beginning, but when you understand the basics, everything else is relatively easy to understand. You probably need about 10h and after that the game probably clicks with you, but its a lot of information up front you need to learn.

The early game got a lot easyer to when I started, the late game is a huge grind.
You can play with KBM or Controller without any issues, its a lot more fun with Joystick or HOTAS setups.

Also its good to know how to google information, and knowing the site INARA makes it a lot easier to find stuff you need.

IMO its best to first get into the game yourself before playing with friends. My group with 2 new players had quite some downtime to get into the same system and all of that, so it became a bit boring for the new ones. Its easier when they know how to travle and have ships that can actually jump farther than the starter Sidewinder.

Finally I managed a build that let me survive past the 30 min mark. I made it to 2.5h (After 30m the time goes much faster).

I have almost all Archievements except 3 (the 50 games and 30 death ones and the hidden one). This game is definitley worth the price!

First of all, this definitley needs an Epilepsy warning. After 10 min of a run, its just flashes all over the place.

This Game is quite Simple and definitley worth the small price. Its something you can play if you need some down time, or if you have 20 min to spare inbetween. The runs all go about 20 min max, with about 22 min for the absolute max (theoretically it probably goes to infinity, but after 20+ min you will get overwhelmed by enemies). The Game is basically finished, and I didnt encounter any bugs.

After I understood how the system works and how to do builds, I blazed through the New Game+ up to NG+5.
NG+5 is the last NG you get a Trophy for, and I wanted that trophy. However NG+5 is incredibly hard. It took me about 5-6 Runs to finally get NG+5 done, and I almost got the 22min too.
Even though there are thousands of objects on the screen, the game handles perfectly. The first stutters I had were at NG+5 right at the end.

The only wish I had playing was, a pause button, so I can change my units with more ease (could also be a slow down or something). After like 10-12 min, its hard to find the Units you want to exchange due to all the flash effects.

First I thought that this Game looks very flimsy. I couldnt imagine that the Joystick controls via VR would work.
After getting more into SIM Jet fighting, I saw another video on it and thought that I could just try it.

And I was totally wrong. This game is awesome. The Joystick controlls work fantastic. And it gives the feel of flying a real jet, even though its not as complicated as DCS. The flight models are very impressive and being in the cockpit in VR is incredible. From the vids I thought that the Graphics arent that great, but in VR you barely notice it.

The Jets you can fly are close representations of real vehicles (to some degree). The poster child, the AV 42 is like a AV8 Harrier and a Mi 24 had a child, it basically has the offensive capabilities of an AV8 and still space for troups in the back. I finished the AV42 Campaign and it is really fun to fly. The last mission is incredibly hard, so be aware that it has a steep learning curve. The tutorials are also very helpful but not all information is found there, for example how GPS cruise Missiles work is something I had to find in the Wiki.

Im currently playing the F/A 26 Missions, and that jet is basically a F/A 18. Its full of BVR engagements. This jet can carry AIM 9, AIM 120 and a Vectoring Missile comparable to the SRAAM (for people who played Warthunder). It also has a ton of Ground ordanance from dumb bombs to AGM 114/65 to GBU to Clusterbombs. Drop tanks are moddeled.

I didnt fly the "F35" yet, so I cant talk about that.

There is also a Communication system to request landings, takeoffs and rearms, and you can even do carrier landings.

Overall Im really impressed and this Game is great for everyone who is a jet nerd or people who like to play (semi) realistic jet combat and have a VR device. Im playing on the Quest 2, and the only thing that doesnt work that well is when the targeting pod view is streamed on the visor. The view/targeting reticle is shaky. But otherwise it works perfect and this small flaw that is due to the bad Quest 2 Sensors is no problem ingame, as the targeting can be fine tuned via the Monitor in the jet.

Also there is a multiplayer mode, but I didnt test it yet. But with the foundation this game has in Singleplayer, the Multiplayer is probably very good too.

I cant recommend this game at the moment. I played 3 games in 3 different game modes and there were 5 blatent hacker total, and some realy sus people. I cant find any way to report them.

Otherwise the game got really good, but If I encounter Hacker every game, I wont be playing this game.

Everything explodes, the generator started burning again, your friend says the railgun is down, right after it shoots you. You die 9/10 times.
Best game ever
