Early Access Review
Alright so I think its about time I make a review for this game, i've played it since 2016 or so.

TL;DR: 9/10
The game isn't really a "game" in my opinion, but a simulation you can mess with. It has a lot of things at play constantly and for some can be used to learn about space in general. Lots of exciting things in the future for the game.

Full Review
Below is a full review I've made for the game, including all details I wanted to share in it.

Gameplay
The gameplay of Universe Sandbox is straight forward. It's what the name implies, a "sandbox" of the "universe". What you're able to do is to observe solar systems, either real-life ones like our own or even community made systems. You can also create your own solar systems, and work on the details down to the specific minute details, like the colors of a planet, if it has rings or not, its axial tilt, its temperature, its composition, and so on. It's very robust with what you're able to do. It gives you a little guide for the Solar System which I think really helps new players, as It includes some simulations that introduces a few mechanics of the game, like the gravity physics.

Graphics
By no means is it 1:1 to real life. However that's not a bad thing. This game still looks very nice for what it is. compared to the first game it is MUCH more detailed, especially with supernovae you can create. they look spectacular! The graphics for colliding objects is also nice to see too. It shows the actual heat of the place hit with an asteroid for example, and you can TELL it was an asteroid or another small object.

Simulations
The simulations in Universe Sandbox are pretty wonderful to see. There's all kinds: real-life systems, like our solar system, and nearby star systems, theoretical solar systems, and even plain wacky simulations, where theres like dozens of moons orbiting Earth. The cool part is you can make your own simulation, and it's up to you on if it's gonna be a planet system, solar system, or even a group of stars. It's truly limited by your imagination. And I didn't even go into the community simulations; a near endless supply of experiences that really makes this game a wonderful experience for those who love space.

Future Updates
I know for a fact the developer(s) of this game are really dedicated and it shows. This game has been worked on for nearly, if not a whole DECADE. and It seems to continuously get updates, with more updates in the future planned- even ambitious ones!

Honestly because of that and because of just how much you can do, experiment with, change, learn and experience, Universe Sandbox is a great and fun experience for space lovers like me.

Easy 9/10. Only drawback is there's still more to come. But that's also a good thing. I know the developers are really putting in effort. The next generation graphics update especially looks phenomenal. So if you're okay to wait a bit for the ambitious updates ahead, absolutely get it.

Controls
The controls are a little out there at first. However it simply takes time getting used to. I recommend using an ordinary mouse over a trackpad; but if you're like me, a trackpad will do just fine, albeit a little tedious. Expect common usage of the WASD keys, and when docking, the IJKL keys. But once you get used to it all, the controls are pretty good. You can do everything you need.

Gameplay
The gameplay for Kerbal Space Program is pretty good. What you're given is an entire solar system to explore, with unique planets each that stand out on their own. You have, Moho, Eve, Kerbin, Duna, Dres, Jool, & Eeloo.

The game starts off and takes place on Kerbin; the home of the Kerbals. This is where you launch your crafts from. It offers a moon, named Mun, which is basically the Moon. It also offers a second moon called Minmus, a faraway dwarf moon if you will. it has very low gravity which can be fun to mess with.

Game modes
gameplay wise, KSP has quite a bit to offer even without DLC. It gives you three game modes:

Sandbox Mode
Basically, you can build whatever the heck you want or do whatever the heck you want. It's truly limited by your imagination. You start with everything unlocked, and you don't have any sort of limitations to what you can build. Though after a long time, it can get pretty mundane since there's no real "goal" the game gives you in Sandbox, other than, do whatever you want.

Science Mode
Basically, this mode starts you out with the robust, leveled up KSC, but you start out with the bare minimum in parts and equipment for creating any space craft. The goal is to gather science points by using your available equipment in new environments, or environments that haven't been thoroughly explored. You have infinite money as well, so you can focus purely on making ships with the goal of learning about the Kerbol System.

Career Mode
Basically, this mode is like Science mode, but even more barebones. Your KSC is very limited and has harsh limitations on what you can build, regardless of your equipment and parts on hand. Speaking of which, you start out with the barebone "necessities" like you do in Science Mode, but now, not only do you have to worry about the cost of everything, but also considering taking contracts, hiring kerbals for missions, upgrading your buildings, and applying different effects in the Administration Building.

Overall it can be very complicated to a new player. So if you're new, or re-learning Kerbal Space Program, I recommend playing in Sandbox Mode so that you don't have to worry about having to specifically do anything in particular to progress in the game; you have everything you could want and need from the start, letting you experiment to your hearts content.

Nitpicks
The game is a great game to play if you love space exploration, space craft, and just space in general. However there are caveats which people should know about:
Aging Game
The biggest caveat for Kerbal Space Program is simply its age. With KSP 2's release (and possible death as of recent?), This game has unfortunately wrapped up any major plans for updates. So if anything, expect bug fixes or security updates.

Graphics
The graphics for Kerbal Space Program are pretty good. They were overhauled in a recent collection of updates that really gave it a much needed facelift. However, it lacks a few basic things that other space-type games have, such as Clouds. However these can be solved with the help of the modding community.

So yeah, to wrap it up, i recommend getting this game over KSP 2. While it's not gonna get any major updates anymore, it's NOWHERE NEAR as buggy as its sequel, and it has more things to do. not to mention, the modding community is incredibly robust.

It is a fun game. It feels so satisfying to see your city come together over time. It gives you many goals to work towards and whenever you're finished with one town you can simply move on to the next. The mods are also a great addition and add new ideas and mechanics for gameplay.

it really gives me the tense atmosphere of the cold war going hot. The ambience and music really add in to the stress of what's happening. It really is about losing the least.

Really fun! I love the idea of allowing players to create their own characters and share online. This really adds value to the game because it basically has limitless potential.
