Well well well, Always Sometimes Monsters. When I read this title on the internet, I don't need to tell you that it catched my attention, I didn't know what was the game but the title was almost enough to convince me. I read the description, I said "Oh ♥♥♥♥, that's what I was looking for" . I thought of To The Moon right away, the graphics, the story over the gameplay, over everything. And it made me buy it.

TLDR; I recommend this game. I highly recommend it. If you liked To The Moon, you'll love it because it's longer, it's a "real" game, you're free to do whatever you want.

+ First of all, you chose the hero, you chose who you are. That is the first important choice you have to make, and, I think that in a game like that, you have to be able to chose you character, for the immersion. You can identify yourself to them, even if you've got nothing in common.

+ Let's talk about the choices because, well, you obviously play for that. You'll have a lot of choices to make, sometimes they seem useless (and they sometimes are), sometimes, they are lifechangers. You really feel the importance of the choices you've made.

+ About the freedom of choice and action, I think that, even if you'd like to be able to interact with some things that you can't interact with, you'll never feel like a prisoner of the game, you have an objective that you can reach or not, and you can reach it by any means necessary. You want to be a good person ? So, be a good person. But, the "bad" way seems easier ? Nobody will stop you. You write your fate. You choose how to find what you're looking for. Or to give up. Or to look for something else.

+ The music is not invasive at all and is pretty cool too. I guess that's an asset.

+ The writing is great too, it really seems to be real situations.

+ The fact that you can think about your choice, examine the different options before you talk. It allows you to imagine the consequences and to do what you think is the best thing to do.

- The fact that you can think about your choice, examine the different options before you talk. Since you're not in a hurry to answer, you don't feel overwhelmed by the situation (well, yes, you do, but not as much as you'd do in real life). But, since that's not real life, is it really a problem ?

- Every good thing as an end, right ?

So, as I said, yes, I recommend Always Sometimes Monsters. It might be a little difficult to get into it if you're new to games like that, but it really worth the effort.

Moreover, the devs are really nice people and they answer to their fans (probably to the ones who are not fans too) on social medias, and that's a good point. And I think, it's only their first game, if it is indeed the case, well, great ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jobs guys. And they added themselves in the game, so they're probably cool guys.

10/10
