I previously shilled for DotA, and thought it was the greatest game ever. Now? It's filled with an insanely toxic player base, including even pro players and streamers, and I've come to the realization that playing thousands of hours in a single game, UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY ARE GOING PRO and will be earning an income off of the game, don't do it: put that time towards a life skill that is actually useful.

I'll leave the game as a recommend, SIMPLY BECAUSE THE GAMEPLAY ITSELF IS AMAZING! Despite the toxic player base and all of the problems with how Valve deals with the game, the gameplay itself is still fantastic and addictive. So, I'd recommend the game itself, but not anything that goes along WITH the game (e.g. Players, Valves treatment and interaction with the players/fans, pros who are just as toxic as any regular toxic player, and take what they do for granted, etc.)

I'll leave my old review here, after this colon:

Play this game only if you are prepared to never do anything else, ever.

DotA 2 is hard as ♥♥♥♥, but learning is so rewarding that you don't do anything else.

But this game sucks because you get teammates with brain damage.

Now featuring Diablo item drops!
