Highly addictive gameplay loop!

Overall I can recommend this game.
The beginning is very engaging and you get many quests to pursue, money that is scarce so you have to pursue different jobs. Towards the mid-game it slows down significantly though, especially if in the league you only fight against players that are in a lower rank since they will pay you up to a few hundred "money" per fight. At that point, money is not a problem anymore and you can take the time and invest it in your skills, since you will need a pretty good amount for the final boss.
The game has many "cameos" of famous movies that you will instantly recognize and put a smile on your face.

Took me roughly 20 hours to beat the game on my first play-through. I wasn't rushing at all though and took my time, especially with the league fights.

Since the acquisition, it is mandatory to have an Epic Games account to play.

Great story and atmosphere. Absolutely gorgeous animations and scenery throughout the game.

Only just finished my first play-through, and I absolutely loved it!
The story-telling was really good and had lots of unexpected twists so that you never saw the next thing coming. It has action, drama, happy moments, and also very sad and emotional moments.
Every time I saw the timeline after a "mission", I was astonished by how many other variations there would have been. Sometimes it's only a small branch with a few different outcomes. other times it's a almost like a whole "mission" that I missed (or avoided?) based on my decisions.
Definitely will give it a 2nd play-through with different choices as I am sure it will feel like a new game again where I still don't know for sure what to expect.

So far easily my game of the year! Highly recommended!

One of the most atmospheric games I played in quite some time!

I definitely liked the game more than I initially expected based on all the Steam reviews.
For me, Far Cry 3 was still better than this especially regarding story-telling, but I had a lot more fun with this than with Far Cry 4 (never played Primal).
The missions are fun and diverse so that it nevver really gets boring; not even for the few collection quests that can be done in quite a reasonable time frame.

What I did not like though is that I felt like game/character progression was very lacking. In the very first hour when you don't have any weapons yet, I felt like my character was very vulnerable and I had to sneak though the woods very carefully and not attract any enemies, sneaking up on them an knocking them out. But only about an hour later I already felt like running around with different guns and shooting everyone down; nothing from these anxious moments were left.
Also I felt that after clearing the first third of the map, I already unlocked everything I needed for my character. I had the "best" weapons and I did not feel like my character was advancing very much anymore.
Once the armed helicopters become available (with auto-repair), clearing out outposts really become a piece of cake.
Ammo is never a problem and after a while there is a "mobile gun shop" almost around every corner.

I would have wished the game to be more challenging and much slower in progression, forcing you to be carefuly and sneaky for a longer than than it is now.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed the game and having spent ~50 hours to complete the game and clear out all three regions 100%, I am happy with my investment.

The Curse of Monkey Island was my favourite game 20 years ago, and although I still remembered many of the puzzles (not all though, some were very tricky) it was a lot of fun to play through it again. Can definitely recommend this classic!

Usually, I'm not a fan of the horror-like genre at all, but this game looked so promising, I just had to buy it... and I regret not a single second of gameplay. There of course are some "jump-scare" moment, especially when encountering the first mimics, but it is by far not as "bad" for someone who doesn't like the horror genre as I feared.

This is an absolute brlliant game and I have the impression that character progression (in terms of becoming more powerful) is done in a very good way. After fighting against the first mimics and encountering a phantom, I thought that there is no possible way to beat the next more powerful enemy. But as that one came, my gear improved and it always was on a good diffcult level play.

I haven't touched any of the typhon abilities yet as I had the impression that the human skills are more "important" (e.g. better weapon upgrade, hacking, repairing, inventory size, ...) but it actually is the reason why I most probably will play the whole game a second time, to see what else I could have done.

Absolutely briliant gamepley; for me the best game of the year so far!

Easily one of my most favourite games for the HTC Vive. It has this TRON-like style that is very enjoyable to look at and listen to. Can only recommend it to everyone as it is a good "showcase" of how room-scale VR can look like.
