So good. There's nothing quite like this game out there and you owe it to yourself to experience it. Know what you're getting into though, the dialogue and mystery is what you'll come for. The ending left me feeling unsatisfied, but ive also come to terms with it

Incredible. So much bang for your buck here with 5 new campaigns, really cool new mechanics on each slugcat, and qol changes that make even the base game campaigns more enjoyable. This might be my favourite dlc of all time and is well worth your money!

Fantastic DLC with some really fun new weapons to play around with, a truly awesome open world to explore, and some really cool boss fights to get stuck into. My issues were with the scadu blessings which FORCED me to go on a glorified easter egg hunt just so that i wouldnt get 1 shot by a boss who could take 1000 hits.

Compare this to the base game, where the items that powered you up such as flask upgrades were obvious (more than enough golden seeds visible from afar and churches that you can pinpoint from the on map) and fighting literally anything gives you the runes you needed to get stronger. Most bosses in sote dont drop Scadu, so you cant take this dlc at your own pace like you can with the base game, where bosses will give you enough runes to fight the next, with the option to do side content such as catacombs to power yourself up more if you feel the need.

I felt the bosses in the DLC were a little over tuned too, particularly the final boss. *minor boss mechanic related spoilers ahead* The fight was immensely satisfying to pull off but man did it feel over the top with a frame perfect dodge timing and insane AOE and visuals which would destroy my frames and block my ability to see what the boss would do next.

A true masterpiece with very little in the way of issues to subtract from its greats. My main gripe was that 90% of the rewards i found/earned while exploring weren't relevant to my build, such as getting 100 different ash summons, 200 different spells and 50 niche talismans that i couldn't ever use (ran a strength build). Despite this, the world, world-building and boss fights were unforgettable - an 11/10 experience. There's only a few games that I've ever been as invested in.

This game got boring quick. As a person who usually enjoys atmospheric 'walking' simulator games, i can't recommend this. I get that i probably should've expected what i got, but i cant help but shake the feeling that this game felt novel for only about 15 minutes, with the rest feeling quite repetitive (there were nice moments here and there though).

Went in with minimal expectations and was absolutely blown away. This manages to be one of the best free game I've ever played and includes some genuinely amazing moments passage of time iykyk. The sprite animations, backgrounds and music are all expertly crafted. I recommend everyone give this game a shot, after all, its short and free.

This game will have you thinking, hours, and likely even days after you finish it and is up there with one of the best stories ive experienced in gaming. The dialogue, which is narrated superbly, was one of my favourite parts. I played in Normal mode, but i recommend those who are interested in this game, but get easily stressed/anxious to play in safe mode. I'm speaking for myself here but i felt that the monster encounters were the weakest aspect of this game, and i feel i would've had a better experience in safe mode.

Rain World might be hard, but it is not unfair (most of the time). The complex ecosystem and beautiful pixel environments in Rain World make for an amazing atmosphere, one of the most unique I've experienced in gaming, probably just behind Playdead's Inside. Tons of things to do too, especially with the Downpour DLC, which i highly recommend people buy if they're enjoying the game to any degree.

That being said, this game can get incredibly frustrating at times. I'll never forget the time i got two shelter failures back-to-back when trying to gain karma on the top half of Chimney Canopy during my Gourmand run. Went a lil something like this:
> Slowly inch toward the other shelter when the rain is light
> Finally acquire food
> Get sniped by a king vulture whilst tired because I jumped 3 times
> Repeat

Didnt expect to play this game much when i bought it, but this is probably the most fun detective type game ive ever played, and it's even better with friends. Well worth your money

Phenomenal game, absolutely one of the best games i have ever played.

That being said, this game, for me at least, was absolutely terrifying and legitimately took 100% of my courage to complete (probably why my hours are so high lol)
