Pretty trite gameplay and content-wise. Little more than a demo for an interesting gameplay loop/mechanic. Personally I feel their time would be better spent revitalizing TABG. I returned this game

Loot is egregiously repetitive. Maps are simultaneously sprawling and claustrophobic. Combat is reactionary, not premeditated, in that 99% of battles are random enemies spawning in around you, not allowing you to assess the upcoming fight beforehand. Poor game-play and design choices like that are littered throughout the game. The game-play/quest loop is bare bones to the point that it may as well be a mobile game.

Strangely, there are actually some good design choices too, few and far between. For example, being able to equip legendary items' affects after you've collected them but no longer have them equipped - great design, allows for more flexible character builds. The Fort hub, also an interesting idea, but poorly implemented. The revolving contract system is good, allows for continuous stream of rewards in between quest rewards. The characters themselves and their skill are good too, even better than those in Torchlight II.

If they take those good ideas and put them on an actual complete game like Torchlight II, then III would have been excellent. Instead its an unfinished game, with 90% bad design choices, and 10% new ideas that are completely mired by the bad
