Extremely scary would be the ideal title for this game...
The concept of the protagonist being so powerless and weak is kind of new to me, and having enemies chasing you all the time is scary, and the notion that you WILL BE KILLED if discovered would change your approach to scary games in general. The game has a surprise scare like the rest, but the horrific feeling of you waiting for the lunatic to go is beyond belief....

OK, this might be funny but its actually the absolute truth...

i used a walkthrough to complete this game and i have died way way more than i can count, however i should note that i was using a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TRAINER to have INFINITE HEALTH after the first 5 hours play...
here are a few example on how i died while having an infinite health...
i was cursed by a mutant gecko bastard and died then respawned with half the health
i fell and died because i slipped
i fell and died because a freakin monster or a knight smacked me
i was invaded by an NPC who due to some error had an inf. health because i had that too so i stopped the trainer and bam i died...
i was hit pretty hard and died and yes i had infinite health on at that time, it just seems that the trainer wasn't capable of keeping up with the game
a lot of the sub-bosses had inf. health as a result of my cheating so i had to cancel the cheat and then die fighting... a LOT

sooo... overall it was one of the toughest games i have ever played (and that is with a trainer) but i really did enjoy it and would definitely recommend it, the world, the art, and the gameplay are one of the finest i have ever seen
but i would most certainly never ever buy or play DS2 or DS3 thats for sure...

AMAZING TRULY AMAZING GAME, one of the toughest, longest and best games i have played in my life !!!!!!! handsdown
