Early Access Review
Pax Dei is NOT a feature complete game! Early access is not for feature complete games! I'm not sure who needs to hear this, but please stop review bombing games that aren't complete when they just release into EA and have a hiccup or two.

Current state:
1. It's a grind fest, if leveling skills, gathering, crafting, building aren't your jam, you should wait to buy!
2. The graphics are great, and the game runs great on my system maxed out! If you have a lower end pc you may have more issues as the view distance and vistas are unlike any game I've seen.
3. I have yet to PvP so I'll hold comment.
4. PvE isn't super fleshed out yet, it exists and is pretty fun with a group, but there are some key aspects that need some meat. This is to be expected!

The Future:
Like all EA devs the world is their oyster and they've promised a LOT! Their short term to-do list does look feasible so I have high hopes (copium?) that they will at least get through that in the next 6-12 months. Don't buy the game on what it could be unless you're a true golden hearted dev supporter.

TLDR
The game is fun where it's at for a certain kind of player, but it's no where near complete. Stop review bombing EA games that you bought for the wrong reasons.

I've been an enjoyer and participant of linebattle games for nearly 7 years. Starting in Napoleonic Wars DLC for Warband, to Holdfast and now here, in BCoF. They have got a lot right. The shooting mechanics are phenomenal, ballistics are realistic, and there is a meaningful variety in arms.

Do they have a lot to do? Yes. The melee is a little wonky, the game doesn't offer any regiment/clan friendly features, and it needs optimized. These devs have thus far demonstrated a passion and commitment to the game. There is a roadmap. This is the future for organized PvP.

So far so good! I haven't been into the series since Sh2 so it's nice to come back to a refreshed, albeit simplified game that offers more economy management than your typical RTS. I look forward to them expanding MP and improving AI even just a little bit. It's by no means broken or even bad, just needs a little help :)

Early Access Review
Let me start by saying that most of the negative reviews for this game are either irrelevant now, or aren't based in fact. I will address most of the concerns presented in the majority of negative reviews. I am one of the people who loves survival games like Rust, but hated the combat mechanics and gunplay. I hated how clans would get guns and destroy small groups that only had bows. Last Oasis does NOT have this problem.

The combat in LO is direction based, skill based melee combat. If you've ever played Mount and Blade: Warband, LO is very similar to that in terms of combat. This feature is definitely the great equalizer between players. The people who complain about the game not being "solo friendly" are right to a point. You WILL NOT get the full enjoyment of this game as a solo, but it can be done. It is a different type of gameplay than that of groups/clans. It involves more running than anything. A solo player can take on 1-3 people if they are really good at melee and play smart. Can they take on a 10 man clan? No.

The game is a survival game. There is a LOT of farming to get to the later game items. If you've played Rust, DayZ, ANY other survival game you know that it takes a lot of time on the back end to get high tier stuff, it's part of the genre. Overall farming for materials is pretty standard, but the walkers make it a really unique environment (and the rupus)

Quick summary bc it's 2 AM: Survival game done right with skill based combat and an extremely unique environment. A rocky release, but an AWESOME recovery. The game plays well, runs well and is super enjoyable. Would recommend 9/10

Early Access Review
Preface: Hopefully I can hit both the positives and negatives that I personally have experienced in the game even though I am bias.

Squad is still in Early Access, but they are currently planning to be full feature by the end of the year. Currently, gameplay changing features are still being implemented and tweaked which is an amazing thing to be a part of. As a member of the Squad community I feel like the Devs are constantly keeping us in the loop and realeasing patches, updates, etc. that are actually responsive to community feedback and the needs of the game.

Gameplay: This is an extremely tactical FPS that REQUIRES communication and teamwork. If you're considering this game, buy a mic hands down. There is constant communication needed throughout the game, and if you're interested in leading a squad most servers have a mic and English requirement. The gunplay is great, the weapons have realistic recoil and shooting them is fulfilling. There is a variety of roles in each squad each with different kits, generally loadouts are chosen based on map and Squad Leader preference. From medic to AT to Grenadier, there is something for everyone.

There is a lot of variability in how the game is played, for example there are different Squad types like Armor, Logi and Infantry and also mortars depending on the SLs in the game. There is the option to just drive a truck all game or an APC, whatever ya want.

Different factions are in the game each with different vehicles and gameplay styles, google it if you want a list, but faction generally determines play style (also generally dictated by SLs).

Negatives:
Performance: This game will not run great on low end machines, optimization is high priority for the Devs and they are currently focusing on performance issues.
Bugs/Glitches: They still exist, falling through the map after being revived, flipping a vic by hitting a rock, etc. They are by NO MEANS game breaking, but if you play regularly you will notice them.
Bad SLs = Bad Match: It's easy to have fun in Squad just by having a mic and chatting, but if the SLs on your team aren't communicating it can lead to a long match. This is not necessarly a negative as bad players negatively affecting a game is nothing new, but it's a little more impactful here.

I cannot overstate how amazing this game is. I don't think there is another game on the market that even comes close to what Squad accomplishes in its multiplayer. A lot of people say Arma, but there is NO comparison. Squad allows for easy comms and teamwork in a 40v40 server (soon to be 50v50) of actual people. Where as most milsim groups in Arma are all vs AI which fulfills it's own niche, but that's another game. If you think you'd like the game, you probably will so if you're short on cash check it out on a free weekend which happens every few months.

Hope this wasn't too long winded and at least somewhat helpful :) 9/10

Went to Vietnam, became a combat medic, saved some people, lost some people. This is not a game, it is a way of life. I don't remember their names, but I will always remember their faces.

11/10 Vietnam Simulator
-Would run through the jungle again.
-Would spend 10 minutes trying to save a man who is already dead again, only to be pulled off by my CO....
-Would take over as RTO as the last man and call Broken Arrow again.

7.5/10
-Poor optimization
-Great and varied gameplay, something for everyone
-You should look into joining a Milsim group if you're into that kinds jazz.
- RP servers are pretty cancer from what I've seen, go for a whitelisted one.
-Endless Mods
-Some glitches and there is always lag/desync in heavily populated servers (~100)
