Is it worth it for $19.99?

Definitely.
Rust will guarantee you a fantastic experience, especially if you are a dedicated roleplayer. Although players can be extremely toxic, ocasionally you will find loyal companions and people who will help you and your experience. Rust is extremely difficult to play on your own but is definitely possible. I recommend you atleast get one other friend to play with you, the more friends the better. Teamwork is essential to becoming one of the biggest forces in a server, but beware.. Your base and items are at risk of being taken/raided at all times. This makes the game amazing and exciting. You can have it all and lose it all in a flash so enjoy it while it last..

I recommend new players to play modded servers to get a grip of the game and understand what is going on before they jump into vanilla, therefore you will not get absouletly destoyed on your first server. I also recommend playing servers that has recently wiped so no players have an insane advantage over you.
