In my opinion, you need to give it some time to develop love for this game. I was struggling at first to love this game since its my 1st dragon quest game. The monsters in this game to me are kinda funny in their design even though the narrative in this game is serious. but give it time it will grow on you. When you unlock that pep powers and meet new party members with various backgrounds. Its nice. Give it a try and maybe you will like it.
