For those who are looking for a good JRPG to play. Well, this game sucks.

Right after about 4 hours of playing the game, I had to check on Google to see when it was released. I have to say, for a game released in 2014, Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment has really terrible graphics. It's so bad that I felt like I was using a high-end PC running a PS2 emulator to play games from the early 2000s. The trees, environments, monsters... everything looks like games from old console generation 20 years ago.

The second point I want to address is that the game's UX/UI is really bad. When browsing equipment in the inventory, you cannot directly equip gear like armor or weapons for yourself or any other companion. Instead, you have to open the equipment menu to equip those items for yourself, and for NPC companions, you can only give them weapons or armor through conversational interaction. And if you want to communicate with a companion, you have to form a party with them. When walking on the street, if you encounter another companion and want to communicate with them, you have to change the current NPC in the party with that NPC. One more annoying thing is that you cannot change the weapons of these companions outside the town area.

The game allows you to enhance a weapon 50 times, and again, you can only enhance it through conversational interaction. Each time you enhance, the game shows a black loading screen, then Lisbeth appears and notifies whether the enhancement was successful or not. Imagine you want to enhance a weapon to +50, you would have to go through at least 50 times of watching black loading screens and Lisbeth's dialogue. Not to mention, there's a chance of enhancement failure, and you would have to repeat the process countless times just to enhance a single weapon.

The only positive aspect of this game is that all of our waifus are voiced, and the anime cutscenes in the game are quite beautiful. This makes me think that Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment is not really a JRPG, but rather a visual novel with some added RPG elements.

Tl;dr: Don't buy this game, even if it's on sale for 99% off.
