Stunning presentation and score aside, this is a game of two halves: One starts off as a mostly solid romance with some intriguing political drama being set up. The other half nearly becomes a revenge nukige that struggles with questionable writing and glacial pacing.

Even if you can handle the rather extreme content, you'll probably be disappointed.

An incredibly disturbing, but compelling horror game. It might be short, but it will stick with you.

Perhaps the most surprising thing about this game is how different it feels from PT. While its inspiration is obvious, Visage manages to have some very nice surprises up its sleeve and manages to create a rather phenomenal horror game that kept me thoroughly engaged in its 10-12 hours of gameplay.

You play as Dwayne, a man who's stuck in a rather terrifying haunted house after witnessing one of the ballsiest opening scenes I've seen in a while. The goal is figuring out the history of the house, its previous inhabitants and what happened to them. It deals with topics like alcoholism, neglect, abuse and many other rather heavy topics in a fairly interesting manner.

The game is split in 3 chapters, each dealing with a former inhabitant of the house. And this is where a lot of people will probably be disappointed because aside from some neat puzzles, it's a mostly linear experience with some moments where interactivity gets thrown out of the window and it starts feeling suspiciously like a walking simulator. There is variety, sure, but it can feel incredibly repetitive to walk around the same house and rooms over and over again until the game takes you out of your comfort zone and takes you to some rather unexpected places and mechanics. Brace yourselves for the moments involving the camera.

Rather than a health system, you have a sanity system indicated by a red splotch and a brain on the lower left corner. If you don't take pills, there will be more paranormal activity and you could die. Which isn't harsh since it loads your last autosave. However, the items you'll be using the most are candles and lighters. These are crucial since being in darkness will decrease your sanity. Light bulbs can also break and be replaced but I only had to do it twice on my playthrough.

I also have to mention that this game has one of the clunkiest inventory systems I've ever encountered. It's bad, it's really, really bad. Made even worse during moments where you have to react quickly. To call it aggravating would be an understatement.

Visually the game looks stunning and runs fairly well... most of the time. Hitching was an issue in certain moments and the visual settings are rather confusing. I was wondering what was the difference between high and max resolution scaling but apparently max is just native resolution, which is baffling. I had never seen it being labeled like that. However, the art direction and lighting is superb. As I previously mentioned, the game isn't afraid of taking you out of the house at certain moments and let me tell you: It gets creative.

The house is wonderfully detailed with lots of small details and things to examine. And just like PT, you might miss a small change that makes the house even scarier. It likes to play with your expectations.

The music is good but I didn't feel it was fantastic. The audio design shines bright, though. Moans, lights flickering, footsteps, wood creaking and clock alarms are all mixed superbly and gives t

I also have to mention the ending. It's underwhelming at best. It sort of stops if that makes sense. A shame since I was quite engaged in the storyline. There's two endings so the other one might be better?

Overall, it can be a bit too janky at points but if you want something a bit similar to PT while also seeking a great horror adventure, this is a must play. My first playthrough took me around 10 hours and there are collectibles plus an additional ending so I can easily say it's worth a purchase.

Just be wary, it does get legitimately disturbing at points.

It's unfortunately quite short but I had a lovely experience with this game. Really fun gameplay, good performance and visuals, the game sounds great and there's an interesting concept here for the people that liked games like Bulletstorm.

I can't wait to play the full game since this was awesome.

It's one of the worst visual novels I've ever played (Or read? Whatever). The writing is absolutely abysmal, filled with out of place japanese terms (Kami, imouto, etc.), typos and extremely juvenile content. It barely makes any sense and the characters are all annoying stereotypes.

The presentation is a bit better with some fantastic backgrounds, unfortunately this is technically a nukige without sex or nudity so most of the time they are covered with non-stop fan service that ends up dragging this game down even more. It's a shame since again, it's not an ugly looking game, hell, the UI is extremely clean and there are tons of options but really... do you need over 10 save slots for a 3-4 hour long visual novel with two choices?! The music is pretty average though, not a single track was particularly memorable to me.

Overall, if you want a visual novel with decent writing that's actually fun in a not cringeworthy way on Steam you could check out Christine Love's games, World End Economica, the upcoming Grisaia No Kajitsu and Higurashi or hell, Paca Plus and Hatoful Boyfriend. Or you could go to JAST or MangaGamer and buy Kara No Shoujo, ef: A Fairy Tale Of The Two, Saya No Uta, Aselia The Eternal or a full on hentai game since this game is stuck being softcore porn and it's even more poorly made than most nukiges out there. Avoid this at all costs.

It's a pretty difficult game but it controls so smoothly and it's so fun that you'll ignore that. It's one of the most rewarding and entertaining games I've played in a while and the presentation is absolutely astonishing. It's worth a look but it's not for kids or for the people that just want to beat it quickly and... bam.

It's the most niche MMO I've ever played. If you love adventure games, horror and intricate plots then get this. It's fairly expensive and it does require a monthly fee and a beefy rig to run it (This game on DX11 is arguably one of the prettiest games out there). The combat and PVP are not that good but the plot and atmosphere compensate it.

One warning though, it does require a lot of logic, knowledge of everything related to horror, knowledge of history, the fricking bible, art, even music notes are used in one quest. I have to admit that while some of the quests are pretty hard and even though you might get stumped... at least the game comes with a browser to search for clues (The developers even created websites for some of the quests) or to google the answer if you are really stuck.
