Returning Pillars fans will see the world they love brought into 3D. The same vibe, humour, and darker undertones stay. And plenty of easter eggs to enjoy!

People who have not played the Pillars of Eternity games have no fear as this is a wonderful easy introduction to the series. You will learn enough from the main story to not feel confused if you don't want to become too absorbed or if you do there is plently of codexes and in-game books to keep you etertained,

Combat is snappy.
Scenery is beautiful.

They lied there is a romance! Its a "see how we feel when this is over" romance but you do get an ending slide.

Has everything you need.

A fun game which unfortunately takes about 4-6 hours to settle in. The writing and voice acting are very poor for the first part which I think personally is due to meddling from higher ups trying to appear to the lowest common denominator.

The enjoyment of the game fair outweighs the negatives but I can't say I recommend the game to people who haven't played a dragon age game before. Even with the lore info-dump of the first few hours I can't imagine you will have any idea of what is going on.

The game handles most of my major problems with Inquistion,
No fluffing around giant maps
Inventory mangement is much better
The collect X amount quests are set to a reasonable amount
You can have sad endings for you companions.

The lack of world state is a blow to be sure but I've honestly never been happy with the amount of carry over there has been in previous games with the most interesting choices been "not bioware default state" so no extra effort has gone into implementing them. Cough cough Awoken cough cough old god baby.

If you've ever loved dragon age I would play it and stomach through to the end before you make up your mind. All dragon age games are polarising.

A fun challenging city builder for long term fans of the genre.
scratches my city build itch perfectly and the war mechanics are very fun.

A truly mind-boggling choice for a sequel.

Fantastic design both visually and with sound. Its a short story but that works in its favour, it is concise with no line wasted. Well worth the money.

Shows a lot of promise. Very similar to frostpunk in terms of feel and general gamplay. My only gripe is some problems with the UI, no at a glance indication that a resource is low and you can't mouse over resource images to see what they are in the research menu. Had a lot of fun and can easily see myself sinking 100s of hours into this.

Great game with many options! I feel this version works a lot better than the itch version with events setting off correctly.
