Yup...*still* fun. No, this update isn't just for a badge. OK, maybe.

I love this game. If you've enjoyed past Lego games, you should at least give this game a look. If you're a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you should at least give this game a look. If you're both a fan of Lego games and the MCU you are doing yourself a gross disservice if you don't play this game. It's fun, it's funny, and there is soooo much to do. At the time of this review, I've got just under 18 hours played and all I've done is the story mode which covers the movies Avengers 1 & 2, Captain America 2, Iron Man 3, and Thor 2. There are still a ton of vehicles to unlock, a ton of characters to unlock, countless side missions I haven't gotten to yet, and several open world hubs to play in (including a pretty large open world Manhattan).

The puzzles are simple, but enjoyable. The combat is simple and fun in the typical Lego style, but with character specific grabs and team up moves added in. I'm still discovering new team up moves and new things the characters can do with their powers. Guilty pleasure? Climbing buildings and super jumping around the Manhattan hub as the Hulk.

I never thought my favorite movie game would be a Lego game. I was wrong...and I'm totally OK with that.

Update: Just 100%'d the game, took me 45 hours to do everything...and I never do everything. Definitely a solid amount of engaging content.

Some will say this game doesn't do much of anything new. Well, this is true. It does one thing I don't see in any other game, and that one thing doesn't show up until about two-thirds of the main story is complete. BUT, everything this game borrows from other games is done so well it's a blast to play. It looks great (especially at night when there's heavy rain), runs great, and the controls are *mostly* up to the task. There's a lot to do here and a lot of freedom over how to do them. My one regret is that I bought this game when it launched but waited over a year to actually play it. It's a gem and I should have played it sooner.

Beautiful game. Visceral but simple combat. One of the absolute worst final boss "fights" in any game. One of those "press X to win" kind of final encounters made the game end on a low note.

A solid game that borrows a lot from other games, uses what it borrows really well, but doesn't do any one particular thing that stands out. It is a solid all-around title and one of the absolute BEST optimized PC releases I've seen in recent memory. If every AAA game release ran this well, it would be PC gaming nirvana.

I played it, and I had a blast playing it. The hand to hand combat is brutal and weighty, the car combat is exciting, and the car customization is fairly rewarding. There are some unsatisfying boss encounters, however.

I completed it. Now on to new game plus mode...wait a minute. There isn't one. This game SORELY needs one. There are upgrades you can't get until you complete the main story; but if you play like I do (completing all side missions before finishing the main story arc), you end up with cool new upgrades and absolutely zero to do with them.

A good game in spite of the bugs. Strong gameplay and strong narrative let down just a bit by immersion breaking bugs and control issues. Still completely worth a play through, especially with current prices..

It's OK. It's a solid game and all the mechanics and gameplay elements are definitely there. There's just something about it that didn't fully jive with me. The story didn't grab like some other games and the environment, though very much quality and full of detail, just constantly reminded me of its superior predecessor. A good game in its own right trapped in the shadow of the game it's supposed to improve upon.
