This DLC comes in two parts. The first is Death Wish. It's basically a remix of all the old stages. While some are really fun and add the challenge missing from the base game, while others are just arbitrary or frustrating. This game does not have tight controls or good combat, but the base game rarely exposed it and you were never punished by it significantly. When you put that through strict timers, tiny platforms, and massive a swath enemies you really feel the shortcomings. Some specific set of challenges are lock you out of playing them for five minutes if you fail three times in a row or quit out like it was a mobile game. A few also require you to go back old worlds for items or enemies in like an achievment type system. Even then I found myself struggling through them for some of the best cosmetics in the game.

The second is Arctic Cruise. The visual are a real step up over the base games. New NPCs are full of life; idle animations, face are no longer just a texture, mouth actually move. The level takes place on pretty huge cruise ship and is modeled very nicely. The letdown is content. There are very few time pieces, much less than a normal world, that don't make much use of what the level could have offered. I guess the devs try make up for it with extra bonus levels, but the worlds are what make the game interesting. Especially considering the final DLC, which is great and has much better reviews.

All in all at it's current price it ain't bad. If you dying for content get it, but I cannot good faith call it good or give my recommendation. Death Wish got me to put down the game in frustration and generally not having a good time, which hadn't happened for anything else.

If you only expect a few hours of fun, for the current price it ain't bad. There's not much to sink your teeth into, and the game is kind of random with who wins or losses. Unless there's a lot more content coming down the pipeline I'd say pass.

It's super colorful and the characters a really cute. The games can get really tense near the end which is a blast. The avatar variety is nice, love playing dress up with little pill dude. There are few good songs, but I'd like for more tracks as they get repetitive quick.

Unless I just have bad rng I've seen every single stage multiple times, and to that end since the controls are very basic the amount of variety between the stages is poor regardless. Maybe some sort of algorithm that picks stages on what's been played the least could help. Some maps are team based, and if you get and uneven amount of players one team is handicapped for no reason. There's a few levels that are so easy it's rare to see anyone get knocked out, which also kills any tension and player agency built.

Collision detection is a little sketchy. The time it takes to get up after falling is random, even when it looks like it shouldn't. Grabbing other players is inconsistent. You can grab onto ledges to help yourself up but only when devs allow it, so no near falls off a ledge or sneaky tactics that could have made the game more interesting. I'd really like to see the ability to crazier stuff, but I do understand this is supposed to be a very accessible game, I think it just hurts the longevity of it.

Matching up with other players almost has no point. A group queue feature where you win or lose together would be a really awesome addition. I think we have enough players to support it.

Really fun if you like a simpler tactics game. Only 4 stats, movement damage, health and crit. Has a Worms like aiming system where you point where you fire your weapon from. It can lead to some really cool trick shots. Character variety isn't super deep, but enough to make you think about team composition and have favourites. Weapon variety just comes from a gun's spray pattern. Melee is a possibility, but is really only supported by specific characters.

Maps for most levels are procedurally generated which does make things a little more interesting on replays. The few manually crafted levels end up being more memorable though.

Enemy variety is the weak point in this game. There are 3 factions to fight against. Each has some unique units, but mostly are shared reskins. The game can be finished in under 10 hours on first play through so they don't feel as repetitive as they could have.

Much more depth than a lot of the other online card games out right now. Having the ability to use the whole card pool instead of locked to "class' really opens up possibilities, you're only really limited by how well you can build a deck to support the resource requirements.

There is a ton of single player content to help you get familiar with the game, from puzzles, to a campaign and even it's own draft like format. Rewards aren't bad either, so it may still be worth it if you have already got the handle of the game.

I have only two major gripes with the game; some cards are just blatantly pushed, overloaded with abilities and stats that other cards just don't have. Some even to the point that in certain game states if you don't deal with the card as soon as it's played you lose. Also the 75 card deck size have a tendency to really screw over your draws. Both of these issues can lead to some non games where the chance you had to win is astronomically low. Also the mechanics aren't very well defined, sometimes you have to play a card in a situation to see if it does what you think it will, I think a lot more clear card text could help.

While it does have a crafting system much like Hearthstone it rewards you way more often. Not only do extra cards give you crafting material, every pack you open gives you a decent amount too. Every win gives you a chest that gives you at least a common card and some gold (good for buying everything aside form select cosmetics), with a chance of giving more gold higher rarity cards (never seen anything past rare, with legendary being at the top) or even packs. These chests can also be gotten through daily quests, special events and end of month ranked rewards. Every first win of the day gives a pack too. There are cards that can only be earned by playing the campaign purchasable with real money or in game gold, potentially frustrating for some players.

Card art is "meh." Very little of it looks interesting. Premium cards are just a basic filter over top or some distortion to the artwork. Brining you own side of the board allows for some unique customization, but it's nothing really amazing to look at.

All in all I think it's one of the best online CCGs we got out now and I hope they fix some of the issues to make the game really great.

If you like floaty jumps, and slippy walking with unforgivable platforming in a Run n' Gun, you'll love this. I however got way too frustrated. There is very little feeling of accomplishment when you have just beaten a section of a level only to have to do it all over again because of a later section you were unfamiliar with.

Fun little game that can be a small time waster. My gripes comes from that I thought this was going to be more a rhythm game, relying on visuals and soundtrack to make up for more simpler game play. The visuals are cool, but lack variety. Music in trailer on main page has yet to be seen in game and just seems like a lure, because all the tracks are just sub 1 minute loops that aren't very interesting. Music quality is a must for this genre and you don't get much but a handful of loops that last less than a minute. That and the sound effects are just to loud to really listen to the music anyway, with zero options adjust them.

If you want a simple game to jam with that sucks you in with pretty visuals and sound, you only get half. I guess at 5 dollars you can't expect too much though.

Classic platforming fun. Tight controls ensure each death is your fault. Tons of unlockables for teh completionist in you. Funny game to boot.
