The pinnacle "boomer shooter." My favorite memories as a kid were going to my cousins house (because we werent allowed to have a PC growing up), hopping on their Win 3.1 PC and playing Doom through MS_Dos. A game like this is such a treasure because it brings you back to those simple joys. I dont think I ever got anywhere near the end of Doom, but it kicked off a love for gaming I've never given up.

There's something perfect about a break-neck shooter where you dont have to worry about unit compositions, thinking 12 turns in advance, or min-maxing gear. Mekkablood gives you the perfect amount of fun and challenge in digestible bites. Levels have multiple ways for completion, the combat is fun, the action and speed challengting and a blast. The sprite graphics simultaneously cute while being gritty. The sound design is fantastic, my favorite parts are the little running commentaries from the ship and pilot. The hud display is purposefully encompassing, thrusting you into the absurd immersion of the game itself. This is a recommended buy.

While CS1.6-->CS:S didn't change much (except to those very in-tune with the game and its mechanics), DoD--> DOD:S was a drastic and unneeded evolution. The gameplay is jolting and unrealistic and unenjoyable. I played DoD quite regularly, and DoD:S just feels... wrong. Avoid.

I didn't like the direction the franchise went in. Feel like Rome Total War and Medieval were better games, and worked better with how the game was designed and evolved. I think a lot of these RTS games that gunpowder eventually harms the series more than it helps. Age of Empires suffered the same fate.

Not a bad game by any means, but its a system hog and really not worth it. Better off playing Medieval Total War, or Rome, or Shogun.

good game. F2P and not F2Win. Really advise any of my friends to DL and play it, is immediate fun whenver its picked up, doesn't require hours of investment to be fun.
