There's a lot to love about The Missing. It has a story that aims to tackle some really difficult topics, and it involves a lot of interesting symbolism and mystery in telling that story. There's a lot to analyze and think about in this game, and I'm surpised that I haven't seen too many "think peices" online about it. Unfortunately I had the ending spoiled for me, and it didn't leave as much of an impact as I would have wanted it to, I think, because I saw it coming. The ending is bold, emotionally powerful, and worth playing the game for on it's own. Despite the game's short runtime, I think I got more out of this than some of my 60$ games. This isn't a Dear Esther situation. There is some interesting gameplay and while the story is emotional, complex and certainly worthwhile, you aren't going to feel totally lost by the end. I'd reccoment this game to anyone, but especially to someone who has dealt with depression, issues with their sexualty, the struggle of being an ally and a friend to someone depressed, or social pressures to conform from society or their family.

I do have some critisisms though. I would definitely say that I enjoyed this game overall, and that I got my money's worth (22$) from it, but christ allmighty, sometimes I really had to be patient with it. Here are some of my personal gripes. Like I said, I ultimately enjoyed this and would recommend it, but some of these things really did tilt me.

I found the mechanic of being rewarded with more information for collecting the in game collectables, the doughnuts, interesting and engaging. I ended up tracking down all the doughnuts. The final art peices you get for this are really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ heart meltingly sweet and made me very happy but I think the system has a couple problems.

A. About 70% of the way through the game JJ's main conflict/secret/issue is revealed to most of the minor characters, and you learn about this by looking at the texts. The issue itself is not revealed to the player, however. The problem is, after that point of revelation, this isn't really explored. There's one interaction between JJ and Emily where JJ's issues come to a head and they have an arguement. I wish we had seen more in the texts of what lead JJ to be where she is at the begining of the story emotionally. I just don't think JJ's interactions with FK are really enough to justify her evolution as a character throughout the story, and I wish we could see more self reflection from JJ, especially because we already see JJ reflecting on herself in the form of Hairshriker. FK is JJ's only way of self reflection in real-time and JJ's final texts with FK tell us that she realizes she needs to become better for Emily, but I wish FK had been leading up to this instead of just springing it on her at the end. That said, going back to think about it, I like that JJ originally rejects FK's help before eventually deciding to accept it.

B. The game doesn't really give you enough for getting all the doughnuts. I wish the texts it gave you for getting them all would have more story meat on them. Also, if you get them all before compleating the final levels, the game is kinda spoiled for you in the final photos. If you're tying to get all the dougnuts in one run, dodge one intentionally and then go back for it to get the final images after beating the game.

The other main problems I have are with the controls.

A. I used a controler, but I hear people have big problems with keyboard and mouse and I can't imagine how bad that is because even using a controller I was frustrated. Why THE ♥♥♥♥ is the "shout" key bound to the same key for "interact"??? "Emily?" "Where are you?" "Who Whoo" SHUT THE ♥♥♥♥ UP JJ I'M TRYING TO PICK SOMETHING UP GOD ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DAMNIT. I think in part because of this, the it's often incredibly fiddley to try to interact with objects in the game. This should be fixed. I really doubt it'd be hard.

B. Others have mentioned this, but the animations are long as ♥♥♥♥. JJ should not have to fix her leg and arm before snapping her head on straight every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. She can regen her legs and arms almost instantly when she has her neck unbroken, so why can't she do that when it is broken? The animation should just be her clicking her head back in. As it is now it takes way to long and it make's doing some puzzles really annoying and slow.

All that said though, because the puzzles go slow, it does make the game feel longer than it is, which you'd think would be a bad thing, but it gives you more time to think about the story and the messages you've received. I think the fact that the puzzles go slow, while frustrating, is also a good thing, because it helps really get you into the story and the characters.

So yeah, I'd say buy it discounted. 20$ was worth it for me, but I don't think I'd get it for 30$. This is a game you should definitely play and not spoil yourself on, but I think it's ok to leave it on your wishlist wait on a sale for a bit, unless you are really, really interested in the themes and story right now.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE BUY THIS GAME FOR ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY.

Please bosskey, just make it free to play! The game was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome but I can't sit at my computer for 5 hours waiting to find a single game. Some are saying that lawbreakers is beyond hope, but I don't beleive that. People are prepared to play plenty of ♥♥♥♥ if it's free to play, especially if it's as polished and fun as lawbreakers.

The pathetic player count doesn't mean that you failed to make a worthwhile game, it means that people had already blown 60$ on blizzard's microtransaction-riddled objective based FPS and weren't willing to blow 30$ on something similar just yet. Make it free to play, and at least ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ try.

I recently went back to Battlerite after like 2 years because they actually tried to revive their game, making it F2P, and made it worth it for the people who had paid for the game by giving them all of the champions. I don't even ask for a gift from you, bosskey. Just let me play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

I know it's hard to swallow your pride, but I can say pretty confidently that neither I nor anyone like me is EVER going to be buying anything with your company's name on it again if the game countinues like this.

I'm giving this a recommend because I loved playing this game, and I would recommend that anyone download it, were it free. But for 30$? What a joke.

Rocket League is a fantastic game. While it may seem like a simple novelty concept, the depth of the game is in the amazing plays and tricks one can pull off. Every game seems to feel fresh and original, and it will keep you playing more and more and more. For 20$ this is definitely worth the hours of entertainment you'll get from it.

I bought this game back when it cost money and It wasn't all that great, but what really pissed me off was when the devs made it free to play and just gave the people who bought it at full price some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ class skins that barely changed the character models.
