Hollow Knight is a Metroidvania with feel and atmosphere mostly inspired by Dark Souls, wherein most of the characters are insects or other arthropods.
It has fantastic gameplay, visuals, and story/lore. Also, for challenge-seeking and exploration-loving gamers like myself, this is the cream of the crop, with tons of secrets and optional (very difficult!) content.
I enjoyed myself immensely.
