A truly charming and well-rounded game. Lots of heart went into making this, you can tell. Also do yourself a favor and listen to the beautiful soundtrack.

Have you ever wanted a block of cheese large enough to use as a ramp? I know I have! And now with SUPERLIMINAL, you can experience that joy, too!

Nice puzzles but nothing too difficult-- still satisfying when you finish them. Great music and atmosphere, and then making me feel some good feels at the end? The whole package.

Plus very large cheese.

I have played 1,215 hours of ESO, and I have just realized there is more to this game than fishing. Can't wait to see what else it entails!

Purrfect Date: A Journey Into Darkness (Spoilers included)

I innocently wandered into this game on a jest, hoping to report to friends how funny and strange it was and which cat I ended up dating (?).

What I got was far darker and more grotesque than I could have imagined.

For quick background: You play through six times, each time building upon the last, as a series of research assistants coming to an island populated by cats. You end up being bitten and will eventually become a cat yourself unless you work toward and create an antidote. Each time you play, you have a choice to romance one of two local cats from the local population (that you find were also once humans). As you become closer to your chosen partner, you are definitely left feeling gross and it feels creepy as you definitely as toeing that line between semi-acceptable furry-ish fantasy and beastiality. Thankfully by the end of most playthroughs you're a cat too so it doesn't feel as weird at that point.
Oh, but what's the rest of this story? You find out more as you go along that the scientist you're working for has extremely questionable morals and is actually testing products on the cats kept within the lab-- some with truly horrible consequences. Like he's literally torturing cats and some are dying. At one point you are asked to help in a surgery where your boss purposefully cuts an artery, killing the kitten, then harvesting its organs to use in other cats. Like, what the hell! I came into this thinking I'd get a weird experience to laugh at and now I'm straight up distressed. On my third play, I have my character refuse to do a morally questionable task and she is fired right away. As she is about the get on the boat to leave SHE GETS SHOT IN THE HEAD and is never heard from again.

So I go through all of this and in the end don't even get to save all the cats. Throughout the game there are 18 recon and research tasks to be completed-- three per character. I did everything, save the ONE research task that led to my character's untimely demise. So my antidote was left at 98% finished with no way to complete it fully, and I got a wholly mediocre ending where nothing is resolved. Of course now I know how to get it all done, but I would have to go through every excruciating hour and morbid detail of this game again, and I just don't see that happening.
To conclude: maybe I should try Dad Dating Simulator instead.
