You enjoy roulettes and screaming at your monitor? Then this is just the game for you!

Game itself is great. I even love the new game mode "Freelancer".
But IO Interactives approach to how the game functions is very questionable at best.

This game needs you to connect to the internet.
New Game modes? Mastery system? Nope, can't do that while offline.

Remeber: This is an OFFLINE GAME which needs an ONLINE CONNECTION for half the stuff to function properly. WTF is this sh*t???

Outdated Graphics and clunky controls, but still the game has a lot of potential.
The main story is pretty cool with tons of stuff to discover. Real DnD fans will love this.

Yakuza Series Story always blows you away. Decent Gameplay, rich world.

Gearbox

One of only two games that I bought for console on release and then bought a second time for PC. And that must say something.

This is definitely one of my all time favourites. Do not hesistate to buy!

TLDR: Great game, but a letdown for traditional "Metal Gear" lovers.


First of all I would like to say that i own this game twice: Once as a preorder on PS3, and once on steam.
This game had many iterations of itself, but as Platinum Games got hold of it, there is not much I'd like to change on it.

[+] MUSIC: For me, this is the most memorable thing about this game. The OST is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good. But that's not even the half of it. The music changes during the course of a boss-battle in a way that could not hype you up more! You will play this game on volume cranked up and immerse in this killing spree which could not have been put any better.

[+] GAMEPLAY: For Metal Gear: Solid lovers, you are actually given the chance to do stealth. Though this is not nearly as much fun as hacking your way through. There is no such thing as blocking, but you can parry an attack when pressed at the right time. Movement feels natural albeit sometimes being off just a little bit. The Zan Datsu mechanic (slicing through enemies in fight to finish them off) is the best thing that EVER happened in any hack and slash game. This mechanic alone changes every fight while also bringing in new mechanics that aren't just plain attacks.

[+] DESIGN: The games design strongly resembles Metal Gear Solid: 4. But of course Platinum Games pimped it a lot. Fights are always interesting, bosses are not just "some guys" and the characters progression fits in nicely, too! As explained in the Gameplay section, Zan Datsu is such a cool mechanic that everyone should have experienced. The levels are linear overall, but with different takes on a level which you are able to choose from. They are well designed and stuffed with collectibles and even some easter eggs!

[O] VISUALS: Yes, visuals are appealing, but it's not that big of an eye catcher. But: Visuals never tell how good a game truly is.

[O] STORY: Even though this game takes place in the Metal Gear universe, the story isn't as good as in the traditional games. But still, there are some twists in the game and it doesn't get boring.


CONCLUSION: Overall I would definitely recommend this game to anyone. This is definitely a classic, albeit unorthodox at times.
