Early Access Review
Incredibly fun and intense extraction shooter. Don't let the pixel art turn you off. This is a hardcore, quick TtK (time to kill), map based, loot and extract gem.

Ticks all the boxes most look for: Many guns and gun types with a full upgrade and accessory system, base building a la tarkov, quests, meds and healing, leveling, skill growth, 7 or 8 maps with guided procedural generation, enemies that flank and use team tactics, wildlife, mutated beasts, enviromental hazards, line of sight gameplay, building with interiors, map bosses, so many good stuffs.

Think top down Stalker as an extraction shooter and your on the right track.

I enjoy the game play and simple driving loop. Management portions are good, but the real joy is found in swearing at AI traffic. Oh the joys to behold! It's just as much fun as cursing out real highway goers but from the comfort of my own home. As an added bonus I can shake my fist with furious anger at digital people in several States in a single sitting. Be still my heart and get the h*ll out of my way. I'm truck'in here!

It's not perfect. But a thumbs up, for sure. There's hours of enjoyment here, but in it's vanilla form it's a slow strategic exploration/mission orientated game. With mods, and mods there are, it can be about anything you want. Fast paced, no worries about damage or fuel, rocking bouncing buggies, truggys... you do you.

With thousands of hours into Turn-based games I'm in love with this one. Graphics are superb for turn based game. The changes you make to your units are shown in detail. Music is sincerely some of the best I've heard since FFVII. Game loop is addictive in a positive way. ZERO micro transactions (thank you Harebrained Schemes). At the time of this, there is a DLC "Flashpoint" planned. I personally don't have a problem with DLC content as long as it brings something new to the game. Just a ton of polish and love that is obvious when played. There are very few negitive things I can say, but I'll have a crack.

Negatives: Sometimes when a mech is destroyed it clips into a rock or steep face. It'd be great if this wasn't so, but it is uncommon and doesn't take much away. I have never seen clipping with a standing mech in any terrain. (EDIT HERE: After some patching the newest version has fixed all of the load time complaints that follow. I'm going the leave the original complaint here, mostly to show they Harebrained Schemes is taking care of their product and listening to the community.) Load times are a little on the long side. You'll notice them, but they are not painful or "I might as well get a sandwich" level. My biggest complaint is selling items at the shop. It works fine, however, the load time when you hit the sell button is pretty severe.

This is one of the most polished VR experiences I've come across. Short? Very much so. Also; beautiful, captavating, even spellbinding. I stood literally gobsmacked and wanting more by the end. It is what is says: a preview. This is the new experience I put first time users in.

Devs, Please continue. I cannot wait to experience more of this world, and my thanks.
