I've spent over 1500 hours in "Hunt: Showdown," and I've come to realize that my dedication means nothing without some much-needed modern ideologies. The game's lack of LGBTQ+ representation is glaring, and it's high time we address this elephant in the room.

Firstly, let's talk about the setting. Yes, "Hunt: Showdown" is set in the 1890s, but that doesn't mean LGBTQ+ people didn't exist back then. The argument that historical accuracy should trump representation is not only outdated but also ignorant. LGBTQ+ individuals have always been a part of history, and it's about time games like "Hunt: Showdown" acknowledge that.

The recent update that outed the Mountain Man as gay was a step in the right direction, but it was met with a barrage of criticism. Some players argued that it was unnecessary and that the game shouldn't be used as a platform for political agendas. But here's the thing: representation is not a political agenda; it's a human right. By including LGBTQ+ characters, Crytek is not shoving politics down our throats; they're simply acknowledging the diversity of their player base.

Moreover, the idea that adding LGBTQ+ characters will somehow ruin the game's immersion is laughable. The game already features a diverse cast of characters with unique backgrounds and abilities. Adding a few more that happen to be LGBTQ+ won't suddenly make the game unplayable. In fact, it might even enrich the game's lore and make it more interesting.

It's also worth noting that the lack of LGBTQ+ representation in "Hunt: Showdown" is not just about the characters in the game. It's also about the message it sends to the LGBTQ+ community. By not including any LGBTQ+ characters, the game is essentially saying that they don't matter, that their stories aren't worth telling. This is not only hurtful but also counterproductive to the game's goal of creating an immersive and inclusive experience.

In conclusion, my 1500 hours in "Hunt: Showdown" have been a waste without the inclusion of LGBTQ+ representation. It's time for Crytek to step up and make the game truly inclusive. Adding LGBTQ+ characters is not about politics; it's about acknowledging the diversity of the player base and creating a more immersive and inclusive gaming experience.
