graphically, it's cute and pretty, but it controls like an absolute nightmare. jumping momentum is inconsistent, and you instantly pass out from falling too far, despite BEING A CAT.

it's lovely that profits from the game go to charity for cats, but the game itself is flawed.

I won't deny that it has a lot of heart, but I can't recommend it for its gameplay.

AC2 used to be my favourite game in the series until I played this one. It serves its purpose well as an ending to both Ezio's and Altaïr's stories. I felt engaged in the story it was trying to tell, and the optional challenges for full synchronisation felt a lot more fair in this one compared to in Brotherhood.

Sadly, the online servers were taken down, which seems to have dragged some singleplayer content into the abyss, too, for some reason. It would be very gracious if Ubisoft decided to patch the game so that all of the content players should be able to access is made accessible.

It'd also be totally rad if they removed the DLC that's ALL multiplayer content from the Steam store entirely. Just spit-balling here.

Oh, I should also mention that I have had major technical difficulties with the game, including a part near the end where I hilariously had to temporarily disable most of my CPU cores to make the game not ♥♥♥♥ itself and die. Assassin's Creed games crashing has become such an expectation for me at this point that it's just a treat to see where they've put the computer engineer-locked late-game crash.

If AC3 is more stable than this, I might actually come to miss the frequent technical issues.

Selling a DLC called The Lost Archive, and then not letting players access The Lost Archive is kind of a ♥♥♥♥ move.

I opened the game and thought that it was some sort of joke, and that the game was gonna be like "lol, you thought this was the game? here's the REAL game"

then I read Obey the Fist!'s review, and you probably should, too.

This embodies the very essence of the cute and nostalgic Flash games that had a very short play time, but then lived on in your head rent-free for the next 15 years just because of how simple yet clever they were.

I can't even start playing the game until Ubisoft support gets back to me about recovering my Ubisoft account. very cool.

EDIT: I got my account back (took a whole month after sending a ticket) and finished the game.

I like this game and its story a whole lot, but will keep my review negative simply because of the third party login requirement. it also sucks that they didn't make all of the DLC available for free when the online service shut down.

This is an amazing game, and I have hundreds of hours in it. This port, however, is frankly trash.

I'm having issues with slowdown, especially during battle, that I may have excused if this was on the original hardware or a machine with limited access to RAM, but this is on Steam and with a decent computer, so it's unacceptable.

I haven't played this version for very long and only just stepped through the first portal into the medieval ages, but I'm already having MAJOR problems with crashes. Opening the menu at any point, the chances of a crash feels like a weighted coin toss; sometimes I can change equipment, and sometimes the game nopes out to desktop when a character is selected on the Equipment screen.

Same with opening the save menu, which is even MORE detrimental and unforgivable! If saving the game is a gamble between actually saving and potentially losing progress, it's less of a coin toss, and more like straight-up Russian roulette.

Browsing the discussions page for this game, it seems some people have supposedly found workarounds that make the game playable, but those workarounds are inaccessible or difficult for people who aren't very technically gifted, but that's kind of irrelevant, since the blame falls Squarely on the ones who decided to release the game in this state.

In conclusion: Shame on you, Square Enix. Shame on you for porting this for a quick cash grab without making sure that it worked properly. Shame on you for treating this game, which is rightfully considered by some people as being the best game ever made, with such utter disrespect.

Oh, and the "High Definition" graphics option looks like ♥♥♥♥.

it's a very neat concept, and I enjoy it a lot. if I get frustrated with one type of puzzle, I can just go and do other types of puzzle. it could use some clearer indication of whether a puzzle has been solved or not. I've ended up resolving grid-type and match 3 puzzles multiple times because they look very much the same whether they have been solved already or not, and there is no indicator of it on the puzzle screen either.

the only severe bug I found was when I got a tutorial popup (potentially an insight) during a puzzle, and then pressed space before closing that popup. this ended up making the popup uninteractable no matter what I did, and I had to restart the game to fix it.

this game is pretty unfair and dumb, and has gotten more unfair and dumb with each DLC.

only like 10% of the game is BS, though, the rest is really neat.

I loved the original Wii game, but this port is terrible. It randomly crashes and softlocks constantly, and most of the time I can't even select a file without the game freezing on a black screen. I've tried lowering all of the settings to the very minimum, as someone suggested, but the game just won't work.

A 60 fps option exists in this port, but some enemies' animations are tied to the lower frame rate of the original game, which makes them zoom around and become unavoidable, instantly killing you, and the solution that the devs came up with was making it easier for you to toggle between 30 and 60 fps, rather than fixing the broken animations or outright removing the option to have 60 fps.

To whoever decided that it was ok to release the game in this state: shame on you.

This game needs fixing, BADLY.
