I was pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable this game turned out to be. Initially I must admit I mostly bought the game because the protagonist is a cute little fish dude, and because the art looked really good. I was certainly not disappointed! ^^

The idea of an underwater, essentially zero-gravity metroidvania is interesting. Pronty executes this quite well, as exploration is unique since there is no platforming whatsoever. Ordinary combat feels quick and satisfying. The bosses are also well designed, and give a decent challenge. Props to the developers for allowing the player to change the difficulty on the fly, for those who desire that.

The story is not something to write home about, but is serviceable, as the cutscene art is quite good. I can also appreciate how environmental themes are incorporated into the story; centuries into the future, marine life has evolved around plastic and other pollution. This gives the game an interesting mix of cute and grim, which is cool :3

Ori is a stunningly beautiful metroidvania that holds a special place in my heart. Every single location in this game is gorgeous. The story is simple, but powerful, and is really elevated by the wonderful art direction. I got a bit emotional at times just because it's conveyed so well... and honestly because Ori is just too precious (─‿‿─) ♡

There are so many cool little details waiting to be discovered by you. There are a few easter eggs/subtle references to other games spread throughout the world. The way Ori moves around is a delight. Combining that with abilities you acquire, movement and exploration is rewarding, and exciting. The motif that reoccurs in the music is so memorable, and honestly just puts a smile on my face :3

It's one of my favorite games of all time, and it definitely deserves all the love it receives! <3

As someone who grew up loving the Monstercat music label during the early-mid 2010s, there is a great deal of nostalgia packed into this game, especially since the music is the main focus of the game.

I love how each level is different and does something special. There's so much expression and creativity partnered with this limited color palette, which in turn creates gameplay that really stands out in a brilliant way, while also being intuitive to play!

While the story mode is pretty good, the real fun for me was playing hardcore challenges in public lobbies. So many moments of teamwork and triumph, with people showing their excitement solely through dashing all over the screen.

It's a pleasure to play, and forgiving enough that you can just casually play it with some friends on the fly. I can fairly confidently recommend it to anyone who is a fan of electronic music, it's a blast!

This game has a cute pixelated art style which really caught my eye, and it feels comfy being able to explore such a colorful and stylized world.

I was pleased to discover that the game gradually gets more difficult as you progress through the worlds. By the end of it, the levels were a decent challenge, especially the gold times in the time trials.

The movement itself is surprisingly fluid and responsive. Grappling is fast and feels great. I found landing on top of airborne enemies to be a bit difficult, as you can't change direction as quickly as when grounded. This turned out to not really being an issue, as you can simply grapple the enemies from below, which is more intuitive and satisfying anyway.

It's a solid platformer and it's cute. You can even pet the dog if you get all the gems in a level :3

A wonderful piece of interactive fiction that has a strong, non-linear story, and charming characters.

As a heavily story-driven game, the less you know going in, the better. I was consistently surprised and always eager to learn more about the mystery surrounding the town. The game is particularly good at showing the story through Luka's perspective, and you really empathize with him throughout the adventure. You feel what he's feeling.

Transitioning between different choices you made is always smooth and doesn't cause the moment to lose it's potency. The music does a great job in immersing you, but it's the narrator that really brings the story to life. She compliments the writing ideally and is incredibly talented.

Needless to say, if you enjoy a good story this game is one I can certainly recommend!!

Ever since I played the first Bullet Heaven game on Kongregate, I knew I had to pick up the 2nd game on Steam.

I'm not someone who has played a bunch of shoot 'em ups before, but I can say that Bullet Heaven 2 is very accessible for beginners of the genre, such as myself. There's 3 difficulty settings to switch between, and a variety of unlockable characters, abilities, and cheats to experiment with.

The highlight for me is definitely the boss battles. Defeating them is quite satisfying and the great soundtrack adds a delightfully tense feel to it. Seeing your highscores and comparing them to your friends' is also fun.

I must however, admit that I am a sucker for cute stuff and this game definitely satisfies that, while also being very fun to play all the way through. The Cat and Slime Bunny achievements in particular are adorable, and I'll definitely be putting one of them on my profile at some point. :3

My only nitpick is that I couldn't get Remote Play to work when trying to play with a friend, as they weren't able to see the game window for some reason. I have had random problems with Remote Play before so maybe it works for others, I did only try this once after all. It didn't take away from my experience in any real way though. ^^
