Fun little overlooked action game. Very challenging at times, sometimes frustrating, but well worth your time. Lots of character customization in form of special moves and other skills that let you approach levels in a way that best suits you. Personal recommendation: get the counterattack special as soon as possible. I forget what it's called in-game, but it lets you get away with a lot which is stupid fun.

Love nonograms & like the 'Loids, but the game practically solving the puzzles for you kills the game for me. I'm not super accurate with mouse movement, so marking the square while dragging can lead to accidentally marking a square, which would be fine, except that the game immediately tells you if marking that space is correct or not. There was no way of disabling this feature, and at that point you're not even really solving the puzzle properly.

Shenmue I & II are games with a very 1990s - early 2000s "Sega" feel. If you know what that means, it should be enough of a review.

Aside from that, what can I tell ya? They're very chill games with compelling narratives and nice atmosphere, especially in the first game. Unfortunately the first game doesn't let you time skip like the second one does, so you'll be waiting around a lot doing nothing if you run out of money, which is very easy to do, especially if you're into gachapon, since money is so limited until pretty late in the game. Quick-time events can also cause a bit of frustration, particularly in the second game, where it feels like the game decides to sometimes make you fail even if you input the correct button combo.

The overall package is still very much worth it despite any of the frustrations I've had.

I had only ever played Monkey Islands 1, 2 and 5, so I was very glad to see Monkey Island 3 getting re-released, even if it wasn't a remaster like the ones the first two game got. As a result of this not being a remaster or a remake, it is missing some of the quality of life features that were added to the Special Editions of the first two games, but ultimately I didn't mind that much. The game still holds up regardless, and in fact, I would say this was LucasArts at the top of their game. This is THE funniest game I've ever played, and most of the puzzles are perfectly logical even on the higher difficulty setting.

Highly recommended to any adventure game fans, or people who are interested in adventure or puzzle games in general.
