This is my very first review on Steam. I felt inclined to make this review in an attempt to save gamers from wasting their hard earned money on this steamy pile of bear dung. Why spend $60 when you can go into the back of the woods and find the same thing. I am serious. If this were released while World at War was popular, it would be the laughing stock of the FPS community and would have been titled worst game of the year.

The maps are smaller than any other CoD I have played for multiplayer, the guns feel like you are shooting .22 rounds at everything except for maybe sniper rifles which are a one shot on a very large hitbox for headshots. Cheating is already rampant in the beta and the audio just seems forced upon the player. No real way to hear footsteps because everything else in the game is so loud, no way to hear your teammates because everything else is loud and no one uses the ingame voip.

The action is so fast and close on all the maps in the beta that you feel like you are playing in a shoebox as a mouse, that is how small these maps are.

The gametype War is absolutely, positively the worst gametype I have ever played of any Call of Duty. One the map and area is so small there isn't much TTL when approaching the objective, the only way to repair the bridge in that scenario is spam smokes and hope to God the MG42's don't mow you down, INSTANTLY!

This Call of Duty will hopefully be the last one ever made. The franchise has reached its end of life and inspiration. Next time you look to make a WW2 shooter Activision, take pages from the past CoD games (Talking about the greats, CoD1, UO, and CoD2) and the Red Orchestra series, and maybe let someone play in something more larger than a 20 x 20 meter square!

This game is representative of everything that is wrong with cube shooters being created by AAA developers or what once were AAA producers. Face it, Battlefield won this one Activision. Let sleeping dogs lie.
