If you could make one of those "oddly satisfying" videos a game, this would be it. Trying to get the perfect cut, to perfectly slice a ship into halves or thirds or to remove surrounding objects from a hard-to-reach valuable item is just so satisfying. Watching a piece of hull you recently cut drift away from the main assembly on a tether to either the processor or furnace just feels good for some reason.

The music, while there only seems to be about 4 tracks, is PERFECT. It's the right music for this game, and fits into the whole space trucker vibe very well. The main tune that you hear in the opening campaign cinematic has been stuck in my head for a few days.

Gameplay is incredibly polished for an alpha, although there is a LOT of room for improvement. Even with the largest class of ships available in-game, once you understand the layouts of the ships and how the components can be dismantled, you can fish an overloading reactor from its casing and toss it through a hole you cut strategically within a minute and send it to the collection area to get rewarded for it (nullifying the countdown). The game is clean, rewards planning and attention to detail, and allows for very creative ways to reclaim scrap depending on how and where you cut stuff.

The game does suffer from some optimization issues, and has crashed to desktop a few times with no rhyme or reason ( 5 times in the 17 hours I've played so far) but there are no repercussions for crashing out and the game is so small that it loads in seconds so it hasn't been too much of an issue. I will forgive it for being an alpha at this time.

If there was anything I wish I could have added to the game is VR support. It seems like it is MADE for VR and I really hope it happens. I also hope they can throw a bit more story into the campaign - I'm already level 7 out of 10 and have made it about 10% through the debt my character was saddled with, but the data tablets are currently the world-building that exists and sometimes it can feel like the world outside your berth doesn't really exist. More voice acting would be cool.

However, for a <4gb download, this game is incredibly content rich. I honestly don't know how they fit so much into such a small package, but I am grateful for it.

TL,DR, Game is a satisfying way to take a 15 minute break or hours-long play session. Would buy for a friend if multiplayer existed.
