Great arcade racing game with a sim-like approach to driving. I love Trackmania, but it feels good to brake in a straight line, trail brake in, and gas out on the apex. Even on controller, "realistic" mode feels very controllable.

Been driving the new cars and tracks in the beta. Absolutely stunning work. My personal favorite so far has been the Formula Trainer (either Novice or Advanced) at Cadwell Park. Terrific work.

Absolutely fantastic physics, AI, and force feedback. Truly a simulator in almost every sense of the word.

Skullgirls overall is a beautifully done game. Amazing soundtrack, fantastic animation, and fast-paced gameplay make this one of the best fighting games on the market.

Now, this game is not for everyone. Compared to games like Street Fighter, it's much faster and seemingly more random until you get the hang of it. People often say that this is one of the best games to pick up as your first fighting game, but I don't necessarily agree. Yes, it has one of the best tutorials in fighting game history. Yes, combo'ing from normal to normal (normal=punch/kick) is easy. However, the mix up and reset-heavy nature of the game can make it seem like you're just being hit until you die.

I 100% recommend this game, but I do think the barrier to competency is extremely high...but that's not a bad thing. And if you're just looking for a fighting game for you and a friend to play for fun, then Skullgirls is perfect. Just don't expect to put even 50 hours into it and expect to win very much. If want to sink some time in this game to "git gud," then it's very rewarding.

It's also updated fairly often with very reasonable balance changes (I'll miss you, Filia's j.lk j.hk overhead crossup), new characters (Beowulf hype), and game features (the new replay system will make it very easy to see just how much of a scrub we all really are. This is MikeZ's baby and he pays attention to it.

Summary: Great game. High barrier to competency, but can also be played casually with friends who aren't too familiar with the genre. 9.5/10
