Giving a negative recommendation as there is no in between Yes/No recommendation. It's not because it's a bad game just a missed opportunity for a RE3 remake. It was developed by Capcoms B team as the main team was developing RE8:VILLage and it definitely shows. The remake is missing quite a few scenes and features from the original with entire sections cut short or entirely removed from the original. In the original Nemesis acted more like MR X from the remake with nemesis stalking you throughout the whole game but in this REmake it's only within the first section of the game. It also gets rid of the QTE/Diverging pathways where you had to make a choice to either fight nemesis or run away during certain parts of the original which affected outcomes during certain story beats in the original.

But the primary downside of this REmake is just how short and the amount of content that was cut out. The original RE3 felt more like an expanded RE2 with a bit of back tracking between certain sections of the game but it's entirely non existent in this version. Once you finish the first open section of the game in REmake it pretty much becomes a linear corridor game. They also removed the entire clocktower section which included puzzles and encounters with Nemeis which has been removed nearly entirely and only used as a 10 minute boss fight.

It's honestly just quite disappointing, the original RE3 was shorter than RE2 but not by much but still took 5-6hrs to complete if you didn't die on a first play-through and wanted to rush to finish but with this REmake i was able to finish it in 1 sitting in just under 3hrs without rushing and trying to explore as much as i can but the game doesn't give you time to explore as entire sections of the game are cut off as you progress without you even trying.

There's also no extra content (Not including the Multiplayer which no one plays anymore in OCE). Once you finish the game that's pretty much it. REmake 2 had 4 Scenarios, Whether you played as Leon or claire 1st/2nd affected the story (Known as Leon/Claire A/B), 4 extra "What If" type scenarios about a few of the characters in the game including Kendo, The mayors daughter Katherine and a Surviving soldier during Operation Nestwrecker. A plethora of hidden modes including HUNK's 4th Survivor mode and multiple versions of Tofu survivor plus a hidden wave based mode based on the sheriff from the start of the game during the gas station scene which added hours of extra content trying to perfect each run of those modes in as little time as possible but nothing like that in REmake 3. There are a hand full of challenges to do during REmake 3's story (Complete without saving, heal once etc) but its not much compared to the amount of extra content in REmake 2.

I also don't know how to explain it but it also feels weird to play, like it feels like a cheaper version of REmake 2. There's strange mouse acceleration which is noticeable when trying to line up on zombies heads and the menu navigation behaves weird with a mouse, as if it was designed to be done with a controller. Also some button prompts don't show up, for a lot of the interactions it shows Mouse 1 to be used to open doors, crates etc but you can also use the F key which feels more natural and more responsive, a lot of the time using mouse 1 to open doors and crates doesn't work well. There's also the interaction with the knife, in REmake 2 if you hold space you can pull out the knife but in REmake 3 you have to actually equip it. The controls also feel more jerky and idk how to explain it, it just feels like a cheaper experience than REmake 2, it's especially obvious during the hospital standoff scene where waves of zombies are pilling through the windows but as you kill the zombies they just explode into a mist of red blood as the game cant handle having that many bodies loaded in and it just looks like a cheap effect compared to how it was done in RE 4/REmake 4 where the Ganados melt into a brown goo which fit in with that games story.

All in all i do, but don't recommend this game. It's graphics are amazing which is to be expected from REngine at this point being one of the best looking engines out nowadays and the story and acting is a massive step up from the original but with the amount of content cut/shortened i wouldn't pay full price, considering how REmake 2 is 10$ cheaper with hours more content in just the main story alone, and that's without including the hours of extra content in the "what if" type modes.

Also Nemesis's redesign sucks, i miss my leather daddy Nemesis which has been replaced with a drug addict covered in a trash bag.

I Definitely wouldn't pay more than 20$ for this game but REmake 2 is definitely worth the full price
