After getting into auto-shooters with Vampire Survivors this game is more difficult and more balanced. The fun is to figure out how to beat the game with different characters, each will make you choose different builds. What can I say Brotato easily makes it's way into my top 10 games.

You'll need some hours of playtime to understand how the combo system works, but then the game starts to become a lot of fun. Some additional things will be unlocked during the first hours like interactions with the environment, and the game becomes also easier, because this is a survivorslike that won't let you beat the first level totally overpowered, instead it's a surprisingly tactical gaemplay if you take it a bit more serious. With some combos you can cut through enemies, sometimes you must avoid situations, and sometimes you need to interact with the environment. This game is a gem, highly recommended.

When I first discovered FEZ I remember it's neat start, with having a twist right at the beginning, but I didn't get used to it. It made me feel dizzy, and I wasn't able to figure out how to rotate the levels the right way and progress. From time to time I started the game and played it for a couple of minutes, and what can I say? It clicked! After 3-4 hours (I have 2.5 hrs on Steam, but you can play without) I got a basic understanding of how the roatation works, but let me tell you part of the fun is figuring it out by yourself. For the rest you can just explore the levels and try, and with it's good variation in level design and surprisingly cool things to discover FEZ becomes one of those outstanding indie games that bring something new and refreshing to the table.

I think it's best to explore this game on your own without knowing too much about it. It has brilliant gameplay and level architecture, it feels more like a real game than it's predecessor. It's a skill game but you also need to memorize the levels and where the enemies are, the combination of it is great fun. For me this is an exceptional masterpiece, highly recommended.

Ein Stück Videospielgeschichte, nicht nur für Shooter-Fans...

Wer schon etwas länger dabei ist kennt das: Man spielt viele Spiele, vielleicht sogar viele gute Spiele, aber nur sehr wenige bleiben einem wirklichen in Erinnerung. Half-Life 2 ist ganz sicher eines davon, und das nicht ohne Grund. Es war seiner Zeit in vielen Bereichen vorraus. So bot es die erste wirklich realistische Physikengine, atemberaubende Gesichtsanimationen, die sogar heute noch gut aussehen, und ein ungewohnt abwechslungsreiches Gameplay. So hatte damals wohl niemand damit gerechnet das man einen nicht geringen Teil des Spiels mit einem Boot oder Buggy unterwegs ist, auch wenn das im Nachhinein gesehen technisch nicht wirklich schwierig umzusetzen war. Aber da war ja noch mehr, viel mehr! Gefechte mit Hubschraubern, pheromongesteuerte Ameisenlöwen und Häuserkämpfe lassen eine ganz andere Atmosphäre entstehen als noch im ersten Half-Life, aber sogar dessen beklemmende Stimmung flammt in Ravenholm wieder auf.

Es ist gerade dieser für ein FPS ungewöhnlicher Abwechslungsreichtum durch den Half-Life 2 in Erinnerung bleibt. Ich persönlich bin ganz sicher kein FPS Fan, aber Half-Life 2 ist mehr als das. So steht auch für mich der dritte Teil der Serie ganz oben auf der Most Wanted Liste, und ich kann jedem, der den zweiten Teil nicht kennt, nur empfehlen dieses wunderbare Stück Videospielgeschichte nachzuholen.
