Got it 15 mins after launch.

Being an original SoR fan, my expectations were very high, and the devs delivered.

Despite spending about 4 hours just trying to get my old Logitech Gamepad to work with steam (shame on you, Steam), I eventually got it to work and spend the whole afternoon playing it with my girlfriend and online.

It's a very well made game, full of action and pretty lengthy. The graphics are awesome, the soundtrack is immersive and the playability is perfect, feeling just like SoR 2 or 3.

In an era in which game devs seem to just want to grab as much money many as they, slicing through games with DLCs and "Special Unlockable Content" through in-game currency, it's refreshing to see how much content this game comes with:

- 12 lenghty well-crafted levels;
- Unlockable characters, some from original SoR sprites. These even have the special "police car support" built in, which came as a nice surprise;
- Optional original SoR soundtracks;
- Plenty of easter eggs for SoR fans, with many references to the original games.

The controls are easy to configure (if you manage your controller to be recognized by Steam. I had to download a software to "trick" Steam into thinking it was a XBox gamepad).

The online multiplayer functionality is pretty strightfoward and works pretty well. The most I had to wait for a player to connect was about 30 secs, and after multiple games with different players, I can say it feels like they're just sitting next to you. It would be nice to be able to comunicate with them, though.

All considered, SoR4 in a must-have for any SoR fan and a fun game for anyone just wanting to spend a little time beating up bad guys!

Fully recomend it! Can't wait for SoR5!

Insanely Fast-Passed Fun!

First of all, I'm playing this game for free, and the fact that I didn't pay for it may result in a somewhat biased opinion.

Also, I played Quake III Arena to exhaustion back in the day, so I'm not new to the concept this game tries to recreate.

Having played a few hours of Quake Champions, i must say I'm impressed by it's insanely fast-passed game-play. Although there are some obvious hit-detection issues, overall, you end up not caring about it and just re-spawning and fragging everyone in your path.

The graphics are ok, the sound is very good and the sound-track is awesome!

The main issue with this game, IMO, are the BS lootboxes that seem to proliferate all across AAA games nowadays. You end up with a game that contains about 15 heroes, but you are only allowed to play with 2, the others being unlocked with in-game currency that will take you ages to save. Since the game is seemingly free, it's not really an issue, but a ridiculous and greedy decision by people that have no idea how games should be. That's the kind of mentality that is ruining games nowadays.

Overall, the game is enjoyable and definitively worth playing, if you don't take it too seriously.

For a Quake III Arena fan like me, it's a charm that I'm again able to play Railgun-only games with new players, like I used to over 10 years ago.

If you have 30 minutes to spare, play it, you won't regret it. Then, you can go on with your life.

Boring.

In my opinion, a game should not be reviewed unless you played a good part of it, but I just couldn't get trough the Tutorial... It's way too boring, the controls are kind of weird and - the worst part - the game keeps trying to help you, telling you wich keys to press... ON A GAMEPAD!! Since I'm playing with mouse/keyboard, it's really annoying and confusing to stop the game and check for the keyboard equivalents of the suggested gamepad keys...

TES Skyrim is my favorite game of all time, but this... Is not worth playing at all.

Still a little buggy, although highly addictive!

This game is still being developed, so I was prepared for the occasional client crash and other related problems, but its intuitive gameplay and addictive feeling barely make it worth your money.

You're injected with a rush of adrenalin from the moment you step your feet on the ground and run to the nearest house, hoping you find some weapon that may allow you to survive the first in-game seconds. You're constantly suspicious of every house, every tree every sound... It makes a 30 minutes game go by like you've only been playing for a couple of minutes, and after you die, you just want to play it once more.

The gameplay could be improved. Specially, the interface used to pick up items and use vehicles.

In the end, it all comes around playability, and the server (the EU one, at least) is way too laggy at the moment for you to enjoy a nice game. I died countless times without even realizing I was under fire until I got shot like 3 times, because of imense and consistent lag. I frequently last until the last 15 or 10 players, but every fire-fight I'm in, I'll most probably die because of the game lagging the moment I'm shooting the other player...

Barely worth the 30$ as it is right now. Devs will be in a real trouble if the hype for this game runs out before they optimize it...

EDIT: The dedicated EU servers are currently overflown with asian players (apparently, because of their own overflown servers), resulting in even more lag than before, despite the devs efforts to optimize the game. This, combined with the recent rising number of cheating players (last night, died 3 times in a row to cheating players), makes the game almost unplayable for me... I'm guessing this is the beggining of the end for PUBG...

EDIT 2: My frustration in being killed endlessly because of lag led me to this tweaks page (http://forums.playbattlegrounds.com/topic/12299-great-tutorial-on-how-to-improve-performance-in-pubg/) that improved the game's performance drastically. I'm serious, it's a whole new game in terms of playability!
