Well the game hasn't lost its charm and truly still makes you feel like a dragon charging through colorful worlds collecting all sorts of flashy gems. As far as Collectathons go Spyro trilogy is a must to have.

The Bad

That being said the game is not without its own faults. Its no secret this is a console Port and yes its not a very good one. As i'm writing this review the game has plenty of bugs even progress preventing ones just because it cannot handle high fps as promised. Unlimited Fps can cause characters to slide, lose animations and even fail to lower platforms preventing you from progression. Not all problems comes from it being a port however. Original game had more depth when it came to design. Yes the game has way better level designs and even some character reworks but the Main menu and HUD are just lazy. Gems do not change color to show your previous picked up jewel just like after finishing a level Gems no longer fly out of Spyro into the counter to increase it, Now it just increases cutting out the gem particles Playstation 1 managed to produce without a problem. Main Menu for Spyro 3 used to be a Book with Art of the Levels you were in that you could navigate by flipping pages, Now its nothing more than a wall of text you find on Word essays. The Lighting especially in such worlds as Spyro 3 sunrise springs no longer reminds you of a sunrise during a flashy morning full of color. It now has a blue tint undertone making the level darker and reveal its true messy rework. Truly it is lazier than the previous 2 games had to offer. Too much detail with no compromise makes characters stick out less and have you much less fun navigating through this now entirely blue area. In it you can also find a Tiki character you may remember from your childhood called Rocky the statue, It now swapped its color pallet from orange to blue and somehow decided it wouldn't look ugly if it had human eyes. Yes you heard me, human eyeballs on a statue and believe me it does not look good.

The Good

The Music not only completely recaptured the original soundtrack and added an option to use it instead but also improved upon it, Dynamic sound changes based on your characters movements such as charging or going completely afk, Nicely done. Worlds have been completely recaptured and improved upon, The way we saw those worlds as kids actually look smaller than how we last remembered it, well worry no more this remaster painted the world exactly as big as our small minds saw it back then. Big colorful worlds full of detailed buildings that fit the atmosphere and full of dragons that fit it too. The additional designs of these dragons are phenomenal. This game may be easy but this is just the casual fun one might miss, stop worrying about it lacking story or any complexity and just dash through enemies collecting all sorts of rewards from secret areas or people in need. Your kids would definetly enjoy this game at least as a startup.

My advice is to enjoy this game instead of grinding through it, run around for a while even if you've already done everything since the atmosphere like this wont be found anywhere else. Truly relaxing and enjoyable experience for small and adult alike.
