Early Access Review
Had this since launch, PVP was always trash so not a Dayz contender but could have been a solid and immersive coop/online survival sandbox, probably the best out there. Sadly, the core is the same as it was 4 years ago, we still have those placeholder trash mechs roaming loot spots, gameplay loop is literally the same all this time and gets boring super fast.

I've suggested numerous times on how to implement AI mobs, military, PMCs and add new gameplay loops but devs are busy with adding planes, new cars and meaningless dull content that doesn't improve the game in any way. Modding tools should have been out already and community would be adding new assets and the devs could focus on improving the mechanics & systems.

Such a shame since the engine is superb and offers crazy interactions with the world versus Dayz. Devs created an intricate and realistic weight/fat/hunger system and then they keep adding secks toys in the game, weird outfits and items that are super immersion breaking. Obviously whoever heads the Gamepires art direction is not up to the task and has attached this game a weird identity through a series of bad decisions.

Again, the core for the game is simply amazing, the Adriatic coast setting is beautiful, the potential is there but I've given up on all hope.

Unless the devs add NPC mobs, NPC towns and traders or add full modding support within 2023, I would not suggest grabbing this title. I will come back to it in a few years, whenever modding is out and community can take this game in a proper direction.

If you are looking for that Total War kick, this isn't it. Sure, presentation and production value is high but it's still just a themepark strategy game for heavy Warhammer lore fans to get off on. Strategy fans won't have much to do here as in any baseline Warhammer entry. I might be an OG TW fan indeed but I still can't get over baseline gameplay features missing, like unit formations and any sort of micro managing, you know - stuff that used to make TW games actually good. Sadly vanilla battles are just eyecandy, could have done it on autopilot. It's an okay entry, I guess, but as all AAA gaming, WH3 suffers of dumbed down mechanism again, I sadly cannot get immersed in forced campaign narratives. I refuse to play a TW entry without basic formation settings. I would suggest picking up WH2 with tons of QOL & hardcore mods and go for an epic sandbox Mortal Empires. Or even Sparta, I was hoping they would use it's economy & diplomacy but nope.

Runs poorly too. I'll rather wait for some mods to drop to improve whatever game devs can't do in freaking 3 years. I spent over 1000 hours on various modded ME plays in WH2 but I forgot how bland and dull vanilla Warhammer entries are at launch in terms of gamplay.

Game of the Decade or how one guy defies the gaming industry. Been playing Kenshi since like 2011, always coming back for more. It's THE sandbox simulator for whenever you have an itch, be it for city building, adventures with your band of ragtag slaves, maybe roleplaying a trader guild, maybe a playthrough with a single legendary armorsmith, go wide with adventures & exploration or simply form an army of mercenaries that brutally take over the world.
