As a fan of the first release i appreciate that they carried over the stratagem inputs from the first game and they're still adapting fun tools from the 1st game while adding brand new ones.

Like warhammer 40k, starship troopers(mostly the movie) and starcraft references bundled with a satire focused on USA Bush-era propaganda that are all packaged in a game whose story is more of a premise?
Want to play thousands of individual disposable loyal soldiers whose "elite" qualifications derive primarily from orbital fire support and a cool cape?
Then this game might be something you like.

An atmosphere like a nice cup of tea and a lovely inhouse soundtrack.

Simple cooking system makes progression a breeze if you feel the need to blaze through upgrading your stuff which i appreciate.

I repositioned a piece of debris to fly at a guard to block their view. I missed.
Instead i ended up knocking the hostage ship out of their confinement and into a gas cloud so i can pick them up safely. Excellent experience.

Took to forgoing primary weapons to focus more of my points on boarding actions, LIDAR detection, trackers, extraction balloons and the tranquilizer-esque hack-dart secondary weapon. With a bit leftover so i can call in more resupplies.

In summary: MGS5 in a gas giant. Call that gaseous snake.

The devs may have slightly skewed priorities depending on who you ask but they are actively working on getting things right and the combat is already well polished from their long beta period.

It's alright if you know what you are doing and do what you want to do.

For example beelining to unlock all the different gamemodes and knowing how to acquire the things you want without paying.

A descendant of Gordon Freeman and MacGyver fights to survive and escape a planet designated for weapons testing and other experiments.

As you can guess with the previously namedropped Gordon Freeman one of the said experiments involving teleportation research goes wrong and teleglitches the facility into a random layout.

Enemies include: Vatgrown war-mutant hordes, reanimated corpses biochipped to follow orders (some arent even dead), killer robot war machines and more.

The game is well made and shows potential in both content and community, and the journey from a lvl 1 scrub to someone who is familiar with every mechanic is great, especially in 1v1 duels where both players are competent and employ mindgames. Every time you die feels fair most of the time if you understand what happened.

The dealbreaker? Peer-to-peer and no dedicated servers, as well as the price tag if your wallet is a concern.
