Early Access Review
First playthrough of N.O.X was really good! This game with a few tweaks and updates (keeping in mind this is in Early Access) and it very well could be a competitor to Phasmophobia! Thoroughly enjoyed playing this with three friends, the kills were diverse, the ghost hunting tools we're similar but different enough from other similar games to warrant it a unique take on the genre and the graphics are much better too. There are a few bugs and glitches here and there but nothing off-putting and I'm sure it will be ironed out over the course of the many updates!

I was honoured to receive a code for this game I had so much anticipation for, when I saw the demo come out last year and honestly, this game met pretty much all my expectations if not exceeded them.

If you're looking for a throwback title both in terms of the older Resident Evil games and a throwback to a more simpler time in our lives, then this game is perfect. The puppets in the game are creepy, the pacing is smooth, the puzzles are nicely balanced and the difficulty spikes aren't a mountain to climb, which is always a great thing.

What we have here is a horror game that is perfectly suitable to teens as well as adults, so my 14 year old would be perfectly at home to play this with no issues of gore, swearing or taxing storyline themes.

My Friendly Neighborhood may well be the most accessible and fun indie horror game ever made. I had an absolute blast with this and highly encourage any horror fan pick it up.

I played through the entirety of this game when it was released over on Itch.io last month and absolutely fell in love with it immediately. I initially saw the demo being played by Gab Smolders last year and knew immediately that I wanted to play it. I then streamed it last month over on my Twitch channel and uploaded the full playthrough over to my YouTube.

Mycorrhiza is a visual horror novel inspired by Manga, in particular, the works of Junji Ito. It tells three different stories that are somehow linked in their own bizarre way. There are multiple pathways which lead to different outcomes dependant on the choices you make.

The artstyle is brilliant and 99% of it is purely in black and white. The soundtrack, which is free to download, is of a very high quality and adds brilliantly to the suspense and atmosphere created. The storytelling is also top notch and you can tell this indie horror title is made with tremendous love and care.

If you're wanting to play something different this Autumn consider buying this. If you like visual novels, creepy stories, interwoven plotlines, great artwork and sound design and want to support indie horror developers, this is definitely a title for you.

Note: It says I played 34 minutes but I played for around 5 hours in total over on Itch.io.

One of the best modern RPG experiences of all time, oozes retro flavouring but with some amazing modern twists. I may be 7 years later playing this than most people did, but if you're like me and are late to the party, it's still well worth the journey through all three different playthroughs of this incredible masterpiece.

In terms of indie horrors on a budget it's pretty damn good. The story was excellent throughout and the ending, especially for a horror, I found to be great. There was one particular part of the game that I did get stuck on and it really created an issue, because, up until that point, the flow of the game was spot on. The 'chaser' enemy AI was clunky, and it was a nightmare on that particular section. Other than that, I really enjoyed it, the jump scares were good, the gore factor was great too, it was just about enough without it being too much. Highly recommend overall as an indie horror title, 7.5/10.

If you've played DDLC before, you'll know that it's definitely worth playing and downloading for free. Knowing the game before playing DDLC+, I was more than happy to spend the £12 for the additional content and support the developers.

If you've never played DDLC or DDLC+ before - my advice is to go in without looking up spoilers and just enjoy the game, if you can, considering that it's defintitely not for the faint of heart and certainly not for children. Enjoy the experience, keep with it and by the end, you'll see what all the fuss is about.

The additional content is good and adds depth to the characters we're introduced to so well in the original game. There's a lot more music and collectables in this additional version of the game. One minor thing - if you're going into the DDLC+ content expecting more horror elements, I'm afraid you'll be left disappointed. What is added is fantastic development of the characters, but it doesn't add anything on a horror level in any capacity.

Ultimately, this game is brilliant, well worth your time and, in my opinion, well worth the money. It's crazy the base game was free in the first place. If you're unsure, get the free version. If you're happy with it, I highly recommend you buy this version and support the developers.

Simply two of the best novel games ever made. Thoroughly enjoyed the rich storytelling, unpredictable plot twists and some incredibly dark moments. Loved it.
