Things have changed since I wrote the previous review, it is now two years later, zombies no longer drop loot, you don’t need to queue stone axes building in your portable crafting to level up your production skills, and the max level for all tools and armour is just 6!

Vehicles still glitch out when parked (rather than vanishing, they tend to return to previous location which if anything over a km is a massive pain in the ass), hitboxes for entities are too small (am forever axeing ground rather than spikes), finding tools from loot seems much harder, and horde night still turns an otherwise reasonable framerate into a slideshow.

The game is more enjoyable, you’re no longer punished as much from death (rather than health pool, your XP progression is nerfed), but it still could do with some love for low spec machines - trees are hideously large billboard textures, distant buildings use stand-ins that aren’t low poly at draw distances i’d prefer were closer, and objects LODs need some reworking.

They’ve worked hard over the years to make the experience better and improve the framerate on the same crappy hardware I had back then.
