The transitions are not as seamless as I'd like but the concept was interesting. The game is great if you take it on face value and quit comparing to the older versions. I've been playing since the very first Civilization game came out on DOS. I've loved it ever since in all it's different versions. Embrace change and embrace this game for what it is. It's great.
