Early Access Review
I only played two quick games but already I'm really pleased. It's an Early Access game so it's definitely rough around the edges, but the game is there and works great. I can't wait to watch as the game UI and available options improve throughout the development cycle. More than anything, I'm glad the core game works great. Well done.

Once you get a feel for the physics of it all, this is a pretty good alternative to meeting up for board games. In the era of COVID, that's a real lifesaver.

Early Access Review
For an early access edition, I’m really pleased with what I’ve seen so far. I’m excited to see the game progress and unfold.

This game brought back many fond memories of playing the original Master of Orion back in high school. I've played very few 4X games since then, so I'm no connosieur. But all in all, I really enjoyed this game and felt that it was a good modern take on the original game that I loved so much. I'm not sure if it works as more than a nostalgia piece, but even if not, that was more than enough for me.

I really loved this game. I couldn't stop playing it for about a week straight and then I hit a point where I, all of a sudden, had no interest in playing the game any longer. I felt like I had reached "the end". I still have plenty of achievements to finish, but it just feels like I've tapped into everything this game has to offer. While the game has a very similar feel to ETL, this is where that experience diverges. In ETL I found myself coming back again and again. I still occasionally fire it up on the iPad. I don't expect to play this again anytime soon.

This would all seem to be a bad thing. Then again, I have put 20 highly enjoyable hours into a game that cost just $15, so that's a pretty decent return on my investment. Basically, it's a great game. Give it a try, just don't be surprised if you get bored after completing it a couple times.

One more con: Why in the world is this game not available on Mac? That just doesn't make sense to me.

I definitely regret having spent money on this game. I was very excited to be able to play Warmachine on my computer. Unfortunately, I still have to look forward to that possibility in the future, because this game is terrible. The performance is atrocious making it nearly unplayable. What's especially strange is that the graphics don't even look that good. The biggest annoyance for me, which is going to sound weird, is how the game is on a grid. Why the hell is the game played on a grid?! Warmachine is played with a tape measure such that you can place your units anywhere. It's not played on a damn grid!!

This game is just terrible. Such a missed opportunity.

I'm not entirely clear on why I enjoyed this game so much, but it was delightful. It's not a complicated game nor a long game. Your choices don't really matter all that much since it's basically just go here then here. Nevertheless, the setting was so peaceful and serene. It was just a delight to wander through the forest. And the reveals were really good. As the story unfolds, there are some emotional and surprising elements that really worked.

My only complaint is more of a request. I wish there had been a free-play fire-spotting mode where you're just looking out for fires and maybe fixing trails or something. I just would have liked an opportunity to enjoy the setting a bit more. It left me wanting more. But I suppose that's a good place for a game to leave you as opposed to leaving you wishing you had quit playing hours before.

Oh and don't let the play hours deceive you. I accidentally left my computer open for a day with Firewatch running. I did not get anywhere close to that many hours out of the game.

I have such fond memories of playing Doom 2 as a kid. This game brings that all back in all the right ways. There's not much more to say than that this game is amazing.

I wanted to like this game, but I just couldn't. The game gave the feel of being open-world, but was ultimately very linear and railroady (pun somewhat intended). The fact that it's linear is not a problem, just that something felt off. I ultimately gave up after about 5 hours because I just didn't enjoy it.

I did like the esthetic though. I just wish there had been more depth there.
