It's basically a Korean clone of Destiny with some some quality of life improvements and a heavy dose of Halo inspired elements. Clearly they saw what worked and tried to copy much. Is it perfect, no? But what is? There could be some minor improvements to the control layout, and menus for quality of life and matching up with just about every other shooter (muscle memory is hitting the wrong thing where you expect it to be something else) but it's not significant enough to stop playing.

In short, if you are looking for something that ticks those boxes of what Destiny could have been had Bungie not lost their minds, a Destiny 1.5 like, this will fit that nicely. It's free to play and a very pretty game overall, on a RTX4080 I can run it all on ultra settings. After about 3 hours of play you can unlock a second character,. There is a fair bit of upgrade knowledge and where to find things in the hub world, so I'd recommend reviewing a Youtube getting started guide before jumping in. It is more gunplay heavy, not ability heavy, and it is 3rd person with ADS. While abilities certainly have their uses, don't expect to be saving the whole party clutch-like with your one power. Boss fights scale to the player(s) whether solo or in party which is neat. There's just a lot of little things that make playing or quality of life better overall than what Destiny had, like grinding/loot rewards, and upgrades that make this better. So give it a whirl, nothing to lose here but some time playing.

It's effectively Destiny minus the PvP for 2024. The devs managed to capture a very specific game play loop that scratches that dopamine itch. Do you want starship troopers the game? Yes its that. Do you want terminators chasing you with wanton abandon? Yes it's that. Do you want a hug? Sure. C'mere. But I do wish the game was more telling up front about how to play and what you should be doing in the first 15 hours. Many won't find the all important menus to buy (with in game credits) the clothes and weapons (Acquisitions menu) or the ship modules that are key. Overall it's a small gripe. See you on the front lines!
