I really do not recommend this controller at this time. The only reason i haven't thrown my on ebay is because i can't find any way to turn the link (which i love) on or off without it, I also have a deep rooted faith in valve and think there is potential they will write firmware that will make me one day like that track pad.

I have used many controllers and my hands have never really been uncomfortable, I have had larger than average hands and i have definitely held controllers than have felt small, this is not one of those. Initially when i picked up the controller i fell that it had the perfect size and weight, and i was really impressed. Then i tried to use the ABXY buttons and the track pad. I feel the buttons are too small and really far inward part of this i am sure is conditioning from other controllers i have used but as much as i try i just cannot feel comfortable using those buttons.

My disappointment is the same for the track pads. This is one area i will continue to judge as firmware and controllers configs continue to develop. There is a level of nebulousness when using them, its hard to gauge the upper limit or the extremes in the positioning. I have tried every config i can find for most games i have and no matter what i tried and i just can't get it to feel nearly as natural or practical as a simple joy stick. Its has the novelty of an old school track ball and really only works for me in games that have no sense of urgency and must require a mouse.

When the link is patched and can better interface with some other standard controllers for ease of turning off and on, i will probably get rid of this. I think valve had made a quality product, it is just not one that works for me. i really hope they try again with an alternate button layout, the overall design has merit i just can't get behind this version.
