It's a great experience, very original and refreshing, but I'd only recommend it for people involved in japanese media: I could see some of the sections seem pretty campy for non-initiated players.

Cons

Camera behaviour is horrible, specially in interiors
Profile and saving system is very, very unintuitive and time consuming
Bad gamepad integration in Windows and terrible menu flow
Gameplay objectives can get pretty repetitive

Pros

Story is original and setting is interesting
Gameplay can work beautifully when everything clicks
Graphically, it's aged well

I think horror lovers might enjoy this one, but I can't see everyone loving it.

Even though the setting is (was) quite captivating and the main mechanic is original and well implemented, at times the game feels a bit Dear-Esther-ish and the game didn't feel particularly scary (not P.T. levels). I ended up dropping the game out of a constant graphic artifact, like an interference, constantly appearing in the middle of the screen that was quite bothersome to play with: at first I assumed it was a sanity meter, but disabling any helpers or post-effects in the graphics menu didn't stop it from appearing all the time.

It's worth trying if you're looking for this type of experiences, but I can't get behind the hype.
