I like the first game a lot but unfortunately this one is such a downgrade that I can't even recommend it to fans. But if you're interested, the first game is definitely worth a look

A very solid game if there wasn't so much unnecessary grind.

Enemies at the same level are very different in strength and from halfway through the game some bosses become an unbelievable damage sponge.
You kick the same enemy in the face for 30 minutes only to be KO'd in one hit just before the end despite blocking and full HP. Especially the last bosses of the last 3 chapters were very good at this.

Saving before the boss room is not an option either.
I don't understand why saving is restricted, as it only meant that I had to repeat the same things several times just to try a new strategy in a boss fight.

To avoid this, there's an arena at the end of the game that's designed solely for repeating the same 30 waves of enemies until your level reaches that of a boss you try to beat.
I hope I don't have to explain that it's no fun to fight the same enemies for hours on end so that your level is higher, and I think it's a shame that the game is designed that way.

There are also no difficulty options in this game to counteract the grind.

Especially towards the end, I just wanted to finish the game and see the end of the story.
I thought about quitting the last few bosses and watching the ending on YouTube, but I went through with it.

The game is often discounted and then definitely worth a look but not for the full price.
If you're looking for a JRPG, I would definitely recommend Persona 5 Royal, even at full price, if you don't mind the anime style.

It's such an incrediable experience to relive a super old game in a completely new look.

I really love this game and the humor even if it's not for everyone. If you have played the Persona games and want more, I can defenitively recommend this game. But don't forget that it's an idie game made by a single person.

I have played Elden Ring and Bloodborn and love these games. I have also played Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro and found them quite good.
Sadly, I can't recommend Dark Souls Remastered because it gets a lot of things wrong. Among them are things like boss fights in a very small corridor, no possibility to fast travel between fireplaces or very long distances to the boss if you die in the boss fight.
Especially the last two points bother me very much, because the game gives me the feeling that it does not value my time.
Running to a boss for 2 minutes only to die within 30 seconds just to learn his attacks is absolutely no fun.
The more or less "open world" would be my next point of criticism as you have absolutely no idea where to go. The only way to know if you are right is to see if the enemies don't kill you in one hit. Coupled with the fact that you can't fast travel means long walks and a lot of frustrating searching only to end up giving up and looking for the way on Youtube.
Before anyone considers playing Dark Souls Remastered they should definitely have played Elden Ring, Bloodborn and then Dark Souls 3. If you still want to, you can give it a try. But before that, you should have played the best games of this genre.

I really like River City Girls 1 and 2. Would love to see a third game.
