I've been playing wurm online for a few years now (with long breaks inbetween) and have about 40 days playtime on my only account.

Don't let the mixed steam rating turn you off from this game. It is truly a gem and quite nothing else is like this. I like to describe wurm as a mix between minecraft + runescape.

It has a steep learning curve, so I highly reccomend you either join up a "deed" (settlement) or village. I play on the epic servers (Kingdom vs Kingdom PVP) that offer x2 skillgain, and even then for most people the game would be considered grindy, but thats where you get your sense of achievement when you can finally craft and improve your armor/weapons etc to a decent quality.

I'd recommend the Epic servers for anyone looking to join up, but sadly, they are pretty dead with 20 players on peak times spread throughout 4 maps, and that's not counting people with Alt accounts running multiple characters at once.

The only option left would then be to join the newer servers that are PVE, however, as mentioned, it will be slow to start out, so make sure you get some friends/join a deed.

There is always something to do and I've found the community to be very welcoming, at least on epic, if you're not a knobhead and act with basic decency.

I need some denars, better get some swadian knights at this point.
