played this game for over a decade now and it's such a shame what it's become, it's still fun to play community servers especially 50v50 but for new players it's a nightmare with the main matchmaking system of the game completely useless now. A new player will join and immediately get killed over and over by sniper bots that have plagued the game for years now, the owners of these bots even progressing into real documented crimes with doxxing, swatting and using ai voice generators to impersonate well known members of the community self-confessing to crimes.

Because of the way valve is I don't see this ever getting fixed, demanding them to do this is a waste of time I'd much prefer the game be handed to a new team that won't neglect it for years with the will to combat the bot owners. For these reasons I can't recommend the game in it's current state for new players. I hope one day to be able to change this review.

Where do I start, this is less of a game and more of an experience best played completely blind so I can't say much but what I can say is this is one of those games that'll stick around in your head for long after you've played it and the fact it's top 11th of all time on steam (currently) should tell you that it's worth playing anyway
