I don't know exactly why, besides a few nitpicky UI designs, I don't like this game. It's not fun. I tried, but it's boring.

Far too many game breaking bugs. Control points that delete your HUD if you try and clear it or just paralyze you stuck to the ground. Missions that don't work. I played through it once and dealt with the issues. Decided to play through again and just no. I'm tired of wasting my time.

The dialogue is atrocious and the controls are bad. Finally had enough after running into another bug that made me reload my save because it locked me.

Despite some of the silly stuff they changed it's good. Considering I bought it like a week ago and I've already put in a full work week plus overtime into it lol

This game is not good or fun. After 1500 hours actually playing (the rest is just me leaving it running) there's just too many stupid, bad design decisions. The only real fun to have is exploring mods. Kaiserreich is fun seeing the alternate history playing out and the pony one is just ridiculous in how deep it is (plus it's just goofy). Even the mods can't overcome core issues with the game though (more on that later).

The base game is barely worth playing. It's boring, especially on historical focus mode. The AI will make the dumbest decisions ever. Like yes, Japan was forced into attacking the US and they invaded the Indo-Pacific region despite not having fully won in China.... However, the AI will still attack the rest of the world even when they're actively losing to China because it's "historic". Like Italy being dumb and doing dumb stuff I can get, but everyone else do it? No. It doesn't take into account the player. Play as Germany and ditch Hitler? Too bad. Also the mission trees are bad and lock you out of bonuses and what not for no reasons. Oh you went down this tree? Then this thing that would be totally logical for you to do still can no longer be done.

Here's an example for this most recent attempt of me trying to like this game. I was playing as Manchuria. I was building up to break free from Japan. Marco Polo Bridge fires and they go to war with China. Great, I'm just gonna sit back in Mukden and build up my forces. Japan doesn't make any progress into China and in fact starts getting pushed back into Manchuria, so now I need to garrison the border to try and help stop them. Then I notice Japan has barely any troops there. It's a few Japanese, but mostly just me and the other puppet. Oh good, they just attacked the Philippines and now I'm at war with the Allies. I refuse the call to arms. I need to try and stop this before I lose let's do the focus I need to declare independence. Declare independence and now I'm a at war with Axis and China still. I tell the small army I had at the Korean border to go, there's no Japanese there so I make short work of it. Manchuria doesn't get the event where Japan will white peace if they're pushed off the mainland. Great. Maybe I can just peace them out? Nope they're not the war leader, despite being their own faction, Germany is. Can I peace out with Germany? NO because I am not the war leader on my side!?! WTF. I'm not on anyone's side. I have no faction. So, I try and garrison my ports using the defend button so I don't get naval invaded and just try and hold out. What does the defend action do? Oh it'll put your forces in port, but when they naval invade at not a port they'll leave their post to go fight the landing leaving the port open to be invaded, so now Japan has a foothold again. Can't get any help from the Allies using those the focuses in the game because "I'm fascist" even though they totally would if I was at war with their enemies.

This is by far the worst of Paradox's currently supported grand strategy games. It fails in so many regards. I would rank Imperator as higher and I never got into it; not because it was bad but because I didn't feel like learning how everything worked. They'll just keep polishing this turd though and people will just keep buying the lackluster DLC even if they complain while they do it.

Rimworld is great, even if I use too many mods and it makes me always have to restart when I add new ones.

Thank you for the new shoes! A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Hopefully this heralds a remaster with cut content added.

It's a good game. Still some things from CK2 I would like them to add.

Upgrade is pretty sweet.
