Game is super fun. There are some bugs in it right now that make some builds non-viable but I have faith that the dev team will sort those out. The core gameplay is engaging and a nice refresh from the speed-is-everything gameplay in Diablo where you have to move as quick as possible killing ~80% of enemies before having to rush on so you don't get one-shot by almost any attacks.

At 75 hours in I also feel like I'm only half way through the game. I'm level 65/90 and have many more objectives to complete in the end-game content.

Another GREAT thing about the game is the classless nature. Abilities are tied to the weapon type you are wielding. Swapping my lvl 60 mage to a lvl tank character was as simple as paying for perk resets and swapping my gear. No bothering with sinking another 50 hours into leveling another character.

Good game. Buy it.

Here's the situations in which you buy doom.
1)COD is too technical of a shooter for you
2)You want a game as story driven as Monopoly
3)You want to play a game with pretty, albeit bloody graphics
4)You're tired of shooters that require mechanics
5)You just bought a collection of metal and hard rock and when you listen to is when play CS:GO you die a lot

Out of all of these though, this is the most important
5)You need something to de-stress to and pass some time in a fast paced, fun, well made and crafted game

This game doesn't do much. It's not genre defining, it doesn't bring gaming to a whole new level, and it certainly does not create any katharsis with the players. What it does do is create one of the most fun to play games ever. It's simple, but that's exactly what Doom is supposed to be. The only other Doom game I've played is the origional doom and let me tell you, this is exactly like that. you rarely aim up or down, you just side strafe and run backwards around bosses and run through smaller enemies and trample them under your steely boots.

Really, this is what classic games are made out of. Games like the origional Doom, Wolfenstein, Halo:CE, and even Mario Bros are still today considered classic games even though their mechanics were very rudementary and their graphics terrible by today's standards. Doom captures this same form. It's a simple game that you can have fun playing through every time like those older games, it just has great graphics.

In short, buy it. You won't regret it (unless you're squemish. In which case get ready for a hell of a ride)
