War of the Human Tanks is a charming grid-based tactical game. It features a set of colorful character archetypes (the strict Satou, the easygoing Choko, a shut-in genius, and a bunch of awesome 'Human Tanks'. After playing for over 30 hours, here's what I think..

Pros:

- upbeat soundtrack
- large unit strategic variation
- challenging bonus maps
- multiple routes
- easy to learn
- great character design

Cons (sort of):

- the campaign was too easy (common in a lot of games that emphasize difficulty in bonus content)
- the tutorial was a bit lacking
- there's a fair bit of farming involved (as with most Japanese games)
- there is no way to significantly speed up large actions (you can cut out animation but it still takes a while to do hit confirmation for a large target area radius attack)

**The game has a lot of dialogue in it. If you are solely interested in the tactical combat, there are several skip features implemented to aid in this.

Overall, the game was really enjoyable. It would have done just fine with a little less farming but that's not much of an issue. The campaign does not take long to complete in case you are interested in the story behind it all. I am definitely interested in playing the other titles in this series once they get on Steam!

Oh and for those of you who like achievements..

I didn't like this game for a ton of reasons. It makes Adam's Venture look good.

con, con, con:

- puzzle element lasted for less than 10 minutes
- the puzzles pretty much mock your intelligence
- the game is 80% combat and it's basically the same thing for most of the game (you shoot people, you punch/kick people)
- you are forced to endure a walking scenario where you all just blabber away (why couldn't this be a skippable cutscene like the rest?)
- what in the actual fluff?

Kingdom Rush is one of the better iOS ports on Steam. They've obliterated the microtransactions in the game and KR legitimately feels like a TD game for the PC.

After completing the game in a little under 18 hours, here's what I think..

Pro:

- battle system is refreshing all the way to the end of the campaign
- the various towers and specialties are introduced at a proper pace
- the bonus stages offer adequate challenges (although a difficulty selector would be great)
- game has absolutely no microtransaction gimmicks
- the art is vibrant (dem colors man)

Con:

- the new units introduced in the bonus stages are not too special (they were predictable to an extent)
- at one point, the units got stuck outside of the map and reduced frame rate by a lot (can be fixed with RoF)
- rain of fire spam and hero usage make the game much easier

Overall it's a good game. It needs more variety but that's a common issue with most TD games.

I'm definitely looking forward to playing the new content once it's available for PC!

I've only played the game for a little over 25 hours but so far the game has been a blast. The voice-overs are hilarious and the combat system is pretty cool because part of succeeding in this game requires you to mix elements properly.

A few observations...

Pro:

- combat system is unique
- the game has humor
- the various dlc offer adequate content at an affordable price (thanks to bundles/sales)
- killing your friends (accident or not) is always fun
- lots of references hidden within the game

Con:

- one achievement was broken (now removed - that's a good thing)
- minor issues with connectivity

99 Spirits is a refreshing JRPG puzzle game that has appealing japanese lore.

I like that the game requires a bit of literacy in order to complete. It's a nice change of pace because a lot of other games in this genre do not require you to think much.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the battle system. It's nice to pick from the large number of spirits and assemble a synergized team to steamroll through bosses.

Overall, the game was a solid 20-30 hour experience. I recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a unique JRPG puzzle game to play.

This game is a charming little platformer that tells an inspiring story rooted from humble goals. It's about teamwork, friendship, love, and heroism. Out of all the indie platformers I've played this year, this takes the #1 spot. I went in thinking it was just any other game and was surprised that for such a casual game, the characters really grew on me. You'll find yourself wanting to cheer Thomas and his buddies along. Definitely an awesome experience. 5/5

Saints Row IV is a crazy game for crazy people. The major selling point of this sequel is how much it bends the original premise of the series. Some view that as a bad thing. I on the other hand, feel that it's what keeps things fresh.

Smash aliens with a superhuman arsenal of nukes!

Drop the bass with the Dubstep Gun!

Play some Telekinetic Mind over Murder!

There's so much to do!

This game is overwhelming. I don't think I have the eloquence necessary to describe how much of an amazing experience it was. The story was very engaging and in the end I became really attached to the characters. The game really makes you wonder what your last wish/goal would be if given a second chance on your deathbed.

Borderlands 2 is exactly what you'd expect from a loot-em-up FPS adventure. It has hard-as-♥♥♥♥ bosses and some VERY colorful characters. This recommendation isn't for the base game. It's specifically for the Dragon Keep DLC. It is a MUST HAVE. After X amount of hours of the same format from the BL series, the fantasy setting of Tiny Tina's Dragon Keep DLC was a breath of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fresh air. Each character had an awesome revamp and Torgue's commentary was hilarious as usual. Experience fantasy RPG elements and an awesome chunk of content for a very reasonable price! Get it now Vault Hunters!

Sleeping Dogs was an entertaining sandbox game through and through. It showcased the beauty of Hong Kong while allowing me as a player to decide if I want to destroy it or remain within the confines of the law. I love that it didn't hold back as far as violence was concerned and its combat system definitely deserves praise. It's pretty much just like watching one of those blockbuster asian action movies. It was that good. 10/10 great game. I'll definitely buy any story-driven DLC that they release (if any).
