I'm a bit on the fence about recommending this in general... but as far as continuing the series goes, this game is fit for fans of the first 2 games. It is exactly what you would expect in the GT series (humor and all things considered).

The only difference is that the game is much shorter than the other 2 and way more linear.

Here are a few observations:

- The environment is a lot more vibrant thanks to the cell shading and the tropical theme. It's a shame that the game was so short.
- Not much has changed as far as the hud/interface goes. I expected a more refined design seeing as this is the 3rd game in the series.
- The game was too easy. Even with the difficulty slider, there's not a huge leap in content difficulty.

As you can see, I don't have a lot to say about the game. It was just way too short in my opinion. As I already mentioned, this game brings more of the same from the first 2 games. That's why despite the not so awesome review, I can still strongly recommend it to people who liked and completed the other games in the series.

This game was quite good all the way until the end.

I spent a total of 37 hours along 3 playthroughs in order to fully complete this game. I wanted this game at 100% but unfortunately I missed out on a lot of hidden stuff that blocked me from certain achievements. That in itself is a good thing because for a partly open-world game, this game requires a lot of attention to detail. Thankfully the game has some amazing replay value provided by the humour and variety (by switching out your class and regularly used buddy).

Here's a few awesome things about the game:

- Lots of humorous collectibles. The game has some awesome names for the Chinpokomon and the various outfits/weapons.
- Tons of references to previous episodes. The battle quotes from Cartman are especially funny.
- Battle System is simple. The battle mechanics are easy to understand and there's not a lot of 'grinding' involved. You can gain experience for using smart solutions to progress through the levels so technically you are rewarded for using the environment instead of just bull rushing through hordes of enemies.
- Short and sweet. The game has just the right amount of content for a 10 hour session (a bit longer if you want 100%). Although I don't necessarily agree with the current price tag, I am at least satisfied with how genuinely 'South Park' this game is.

Here are a few things I'd like to mention:

- The map that shows you how many collectibles are left in an area is a bit bugged. A few people (as well as myself) have reported seeing indicators that equipment could still be found in an area that has completely been cleaned out.
- You max out in levels long before you complete the game. If you want a more challenging final boss encounter, you can skip out on certain content to be 'underleveled'.
- It would have been nice to gain access to certain levels once you beat the game. Some areas are completely locked off after you clear their related quests. This makes sense for areas that are eventually destroyed in the storyline though.

9/10
It was a fun game!

Driftmoon is a pleasant indie adventure RPG with entertaining mini-puzzles and dialogue. The game itself is very short but the quality humor keeps things lively.

Here's what you should expect from the game:

- lots of collectibles that require you to be attentive
- small puzzles (small in the sense that they are not too hard)
- easy battles (the battle mechanics aren't very deep but there are at least 4 layers of difficulty)
- rewards for exploration (doing all the side quests affects the outcome of the game)

It's a charming game and one that has character. I do recommend it if you are looking for a lightheartened experience.

This Tomb Raider origin story is definitely my favorite version by far. I had a lot of fun playing it from start to finish (minus the multiplayer) due to the breathtaking level design, good voice acting (Camilla Luddington), and overall high-intensity throughout the game.

This is an example of a game that you can't play half-awake.

It took me about 25 hours to complete the SP campaign (35+ if you count the MP). One major thing that I feel they did right in this game are the collectibles. It's interesting because they're not hard to find due to skill upgrades and treasure maps but they are actually fun to 'try and get' because of all the platforming involved. It's not enough to know which direction to go. Reaching the collectibles requires an understanding of the map's layout. It's actually very easy to get lost within the beautiful island if you are just prancing around without direction.

As far as the combat goes, I am split 50-50. The game gives you enough freedom with how you can kill your enemies and that allows for some good times. On the other hand, it seems that enemy detection is a bit screwy. As an example, there's an enemy mounted on a turret gun that can see you through walls and will follow you wherever you go even if you are hidden from sight.

I feel that this 2013 version of Tomb Raider is my favorite one so far. Even for an origin story, this Lara Croft is quite different from her predecessor even when you try and imagine how one can become the other. I think that this game should be a starting point for a new series of Tomb Raider games. I do recommend this game to fans of the old games but even more so to those who have yet to play anything from the collection.

Gemini Rue is a non-linear adventure game that succeeds in narrating a compelling story. It uses the topics of identity and nature in order to tell the profound parallel story of one Delta-Six and Azriel Odin. 7 hours in and I am left dumbfounded by this masterpiece.

After finishing the game, here are a few things I liked about it..

- Excellent voice acting. Shelly Smith-Shenoy who plays one of the female roles does an excellent job of playing an innocent and insightful individual.

- Deep concept. The game plays with fire by toying with the idea of something as profound as identity. It opens up a lot of possibilities right from the moment of the opening scene.

- Interesting puzzle presentation. Some of the puzzles in this game put an emphasis on a macro-level understanding of the environment. You are tasked with solving puzzles which then require you to go through more layers in order to complete the objective.

This is a great example of a game with a strong premise. It's the type of adeventure game you are compelled to take the time to understand. I strongly recommend this to anyone who would like some mental stimulation (the good kind).

FORCED is an insanely fun co-op puzzle brawler. You play as a slave being trained up to be a gladiator and you are exposed to 25 challenging levels (5 bosses, 20 challenge rooms). After 30 hours of playing the game (it can definitely be completed MUCH faster), here's what I think..

Pros:

- The game is infinitely more fun with co-op partners. The difficulty fluctuates a lot depending on whether you do a challenge solo or with a group. For example, some challenge rooms are easier to do with more people. On the other hand, some boss rooms require a lot more concentration with a full group due to the higher amount of adds. Either way it is a game that does a great job of promoting teamwork seeing as the 4 available weapon-types have a specific role to fulfill.

- The skill variety is ample enough. There are 3 passive and active slots and there are enough skills for all types of situations.

- There is a large variety of different challenges rooms with various objectives. There are 4 acts (or areas) and all of the puzzles are different. No 2 puzzles repeat so you can be sure that the game stays 'fresh' until the end.

- You get to face challenging bosses. Each boss has a speed challenge and a 'self-imposed' handicap challenge. With these 2 challenges, you can't just face-smash your way to full-on victory. Fully completing a boss level requires a certain level of precision and understanding of the room's mechanisms.

- The spirit guide's dialogue is quite well-done. It was entertaining enough to get me through the entire game without getting complacent.

Cons:

- The Camera feels very limited.
- There is currently a glitch that sinks the 3rd player in any group under the floor when entering or re-entering the preparation room. They are currently looking into it.
- High latency can cause issues in some puzzles. These issues can block progression.

All in all I loved FORCED. I haven't had that much fun in co-op since playing Magicka.

I would like to see more puzzles in the future. The bosses were alright but the puzzles felt a lot more satisfying/rewarding when completed.

9/10 and looking forward to sequels and other releases from this developer!

The Blackwell Legacy is a short and sweet point-and-click adventure game wherein you help wandering spirits pass on to the afterlife by helping them realise their current situation. It features puzzles that require decent comprehension, a good amount of research, and involvement with all participating characters. After playing it for 2 hours, here's what I think..

Pros:

- sensible achievement design (There's an achievement for not talking to your Spirit Guide while in the presence of others. This makes complete sense since the main character has insecurities about being viewed as insane.)
- the game makes good use of notes; they really look for the ability to put two and two together
- short and sweet (Only one case is covered but it is quote memorable due to the nature of all the different characters the developer managed to fit in.)

Con:

- quite a few parts of the game did not require much (if any) object interaction

___________

I recommend this game to anyone who is looking to start playing point-and-click adventure games. It's a great starting point. It's well-made and short (not tedious) so it will ease you into the genre. The story itself is solid if you understand that this game is an introduction to the series (The Blackwell Series of games).

Before anything I just wanna say that the only other game I've played from the series is Blackwell Unbound. I probably should have played the other 2 first before Deception but that's not too big of an issue.

As someone who has finished Unbound recently, I can see the differences (for the better) that the Developer applied into Blackwell Deception. A few small quirks were improved upon such as being able to move to the next map without having to switch to the Spirit Medium.

I especially liked the format in which the cases were presented in this game. You get thrown right into a case as a 'tutorial' and then given a few more cases that all eventually converge to one larger idea. I am glad that the Developer finally decided to reveal a bit of information on our ghostly companion and did so in a way that would keep players interested.

The one thing I didn't really like was how the commentary mode had large bubbles showing up all over the screen. I realize that you can turn it off but if you are trying to go for 100% during the first time, it's a little bit unpleasant. I like listening to the commentary but I'm not fond of the bubbles (the bloopers were funny though).

It also would have been nice if some of the phone features were used more. I didn't need to read a whole lot of mail so that feature felt a bit underused.

Overall the game was an even better experience than Blackwell Unbound. Finishing this title has me excited for the 2 other Blackwell games on my list. The combination of Joey and Rosangela seemed a lot smoother than with Lauren.

Blackwell Unbound is one of the first few point-and-clicks that I genuinely liked. The game focuses on the story and character interaction so I found that I didn't have to think too much in order to progress through the game. I just found myself getting into all the conversations with the various personalities.

At certain points of the game, I found myself wanting to know more about certain characters. It's a bit unfortunate that the scope of what you discover isn't as broad as what it could be but then again, that kind of information can derail from this type of game's main focus.

My only real gripe with the game is how Lauren keeps flicking her cigarette all over the place when her apartment has like 3 ashtrays and an ashpail outside. You would think she'd use one of them.

State of Decay is a polished single-player open world zombie survival game. It requires you to take on the mindset of a survivor than just another player. After slowly taking my time and beating the single player campaign in about 25 hours (100%), here are some highlights from the game..

Pros:

- The game is not actually hard BUT the consequences are tremendous if you do ♥♥♥♥ up (you'll be instilled with a feeling of loss)
- Resources are finite. It can be counterbalanced with resource investment into sustainability (for survival).
- You don't just play one character. You raise up a community. The more time to take into building up the group as a whole, the greater your chances of survival.
- Vehicles are considered a resource. If you take better care of them, you'll find that they can do more than just get you from point A to B.
- 25 hours worth of content (main story and side quest included).
- For a single player game, the NPC companions are quite capable. They don't take the lead but they don't fall behind either.

Cons:

- The story is quite average.
- Vehicles are overpowered. They can kill everything except for one special infected.
